Instructions and manual for Scher-Khan Magicar B in Russian

When using the Scher Khan car anti-theft system, there is often a need to reflash the remote controls or add new ones. The algorithm of actions is simple, so every car owner can set up the Sherkhan key fob independently.

One of the most common reasons for reprogramming Mobicar and Universe remote devices is loss or purchase of a new one. In addition, programming the remote control is required in the following cases:

  • commands are not issued from one key fob, the second one works fine;
  • damage to the housing or board of the remote control;
  • Damage to part of the liquid crystal display, which makes it impossible to monitor triggered security zones;
  • use of additional control panels. Occurs when purchasing a car with one key fob;
  • failure of the communicator and the control unit to work together.

How to reset settings

Resetting the settings of Sherkhan security systems (starting from the Scher-Khan 3 modification) is performed using the buttons located on the key fob. Since alarms use a programming table consisting of 2 sections, the operation is performed in 2 stages. The equipment design does not provide for a procedure for simultaneous zeroing of all parameters.

Some security systems use a method of resetting values using a programming button or entering a numeric password. In early modifications (for example, Magikar 2), the operation is performed using a series of 2-position switches located on the rear wall of the case. Returning to factory settings involves moving the toggle switches to the “off” position.

Menu No. 1

To reset the first table (programmed by the key combination “1” and “2”), you must:

  1. Enter the function adjustment mode by holding down buttons “1” and “2” for 2 seconds. If the command is executed correctly, the horn or siren is activated once, and at the same time a flash is given by the external lighting equipment (connected to the security equipment).
  2. Perform 3 short-term consecutive impacts on the “3” key. Each time the siren should sound a short beep and the external lights should flash.
  3. Wait until 5-7 seconds have passed after the third press: the delay is necessary to automatically return the values to the factory settings. Confirmation is a triple short signal from the lamps, supplemented by a triple activation of the siren.

Menu No. 2

The second table is cleared using a similar algorithm; to call the programming mode, press the “2” and “4” buttons for 2 seconds. The procedure is standard for Magikar alarms A, 5, 6 or 7. In the Jungle or Vegas modifications, a common programming table is used, which is deleted using 2 methods (depending on the initial programming of the central unit).

To remove values without using code, you need to follow these steps:

  1. After activating the ignition, press the Valet switch three times within 5 seconds.
  2. After flashing the light signal, press the button 3 more times (the interval between impacts ranges from 1 to 3 seconds).
  3. Wait the 3 seconds required to delete the settings.

If the owner has set the reset using a password, then after turning on the ignition, the first digit is entered (by pressing the switch). Then the driver waits 3 seconds, after the lighting lamps flash, the second character is dialed. If the password is correct, a single flash occurs; if an error is made, the lamps will blink twice. There are 3 attempts to enter the code; if all the numbers are incorrect, a 30-minute timer is activated, blocking the password request function.

After receiving confirmation that the code is correct, the Valet button is pressed three times. The alarm design allows an interval between presses in the range from 1 to 3 seconds. Each operation is accompanied by the operation of lighting lamps. After a 3-second pause, during which it is prohibited to press the communicator keys, the settings return to their original settings. Confirmation is a triple flash of lamps.

The combination of buttons (I+II) turns on or off all signals (siren in alarm mode, short signals - when arming and disarming

security mode, alarm signals - in alarm mode).

In this case, all information will be transferred to the key fob as usual.

Hidden security mode

Programmable function 2-2: “Trunk lock control in security mode”

This function allows the user to select whether to remove the system when

unlocking the trunk from security and unlocking the electric door locks

or not.

This programmable function has two meanings:

1)

When the trunk lock is unlocked remotely, the system does not disarm; after activating the trunk lock, the system

disables shock sensor, additional sensor, hood sensor/

trunk for 15 seconds. If the trunk has not been opened during this time, then

after 15 seconds, the system will again start tracking disabled

sensors If the trunk was open, the system will start tracking

disabled sensors 15 seconds after the trunk is

closed (factory setting) 2)

When the trunk is unlocked remotely, the system is disarmed and the central locking is unlocked.

Programmable function 2-3: “Trunk lock control pulse duration”

This function allows you to change the duration of the lock control pulses

trunk (signals on connector CN1). The choice of value for this function depends

on the design of the vehicle on which the system is installed. For example,

if the connection occurs to a button in the cabin, which to eliminate

false alarm requires some holding time, then it is required

select the second or third value of this function.

This programmable function has three meanings:

1)

0.5 sec.

Advantages and disadvantages of autostart systems

Advantages of Sherkhan alarms with the option of automatic engine start:

  1. Great functionality to simplify the management of standard vehicle systems. To do this, the alarm must be correctly connected to the additional equipment. We are talking about electric windows, sunroof, side mirrors, air conditioning, heating, etc.
  2. Easy to install. The service manual includes a detailed wiring diagram for connecting the alarm. Therefore, the user should not have problems connecting contacts.
  3. Effective vehicle protection. Thanks to the use of special encodings, the likelihood of intercepting signals transmitted between the antenna and the key fob is minimized.
  4. Affordable price.

Flaws:

  1. The need to reprogram the remote control. Some models of anti-theft systems are equipped with communicators with an English-language interface. This may not cause problems for some users when setting up basic security functions. However, if the parameters of additional options are changed, this will cause inconvenience.
  2. Fragile body of the communicator. Minor falls may cause the device to malfunction. If the key fob cracks and its internal circuit board is damaged, you will have to use the services of specialists to restore it.

What are the reasons for autorun failures?

If there is a problem with the system and the option does not function, the communicator will emit a triple signal and a fault code will be displayed on its screen.

Causes of problems why the remote engine start function in the Sherkhan alarm system does not work:

Error codeDescription
01A combination indicating engine operation, the power unit needs to be stopped
02The engine does not start because the ignition is on; the system will need to be deactivated to fix the problem.
03One or more door locks are not locked, you need to close them
04The alarm detected an open luggage compartment or hood
05Autostart is not possible due to the fact that the user has not completed the start reservation on a manual transmission
06The parking brake lever is disabled, it needs to be turned on
07The brake pedal is depressed, you need to release it, the controller may have failed
08The user has not programmed the tachometer signal value
