You need to pay attention to the fact that you should use a lock from a Lada with a sedan body type, and not a hatchback - they differ in their design from each other. The next element of the new design, which will need to be installed in place of the old lock, is the counterpart, which can also be taken from the Lada Kalina lock. It can be easily installed on the trunk of a VAZ 2109 car and does not require significant changes.
Installing a Kalina lock means that it will be opened using an electric drive or mechanically using a lever from inside the car. Therefore, it is worth purchasing a special kit for the central locking. Electrical wiring will require the installation of a button, relay and fuse (8 or 16 A). In addition to these structural elements, you will need two more plastic or rubber plugs, as well as a bracket - a small corner with side dimensions of 30 mm and a thickness of 1-2 mm.

Installing an electric trunk drive
In the latch it is necessary to drill several technological holes with threads intended for fastening screws under points 3 and 4. With such screws you can secure the end of the cable. One question remains unresolved: how to get rid of the lock latch from the trunk lid? This can be realized by making a hole in the trunk lid, the diameter of which will be 1.15 cm. To knock out the axle in it, you need to insert a dense drift into it and remove the rod. It is necessary to ensure that the roller recess and the two screws are located symmetrically to each other. When removing the axle, the plate moves and the inside is removed along with the pusher. To make it impossible to open the lock with a key, it is enough to reduce the size of the end of the pusher by approximately 10 millimeters.
After the work has been done, having assembled a new lock system, you can put it in its original place. Then fix the relay in the lower part of the door, at a distance of 150-200 mm from the lock. It is also necessary to maintain a symmetrical arrangement on the axis of the entire device made. Due to the fact that the roller can be purchased separately, the electromechanical part can be connected to the window lift mechanism. To facilitate installation of the cable, the bushing located at the end of the relay core is replaced with a screw. You can attach the cable to the screw in different ways, for example, press the body of the cable to the lock with screws, but first place adjusting washers under them. In the same way, we attach the other end of the cable to the main part of the relay. After the electrical part has been checked, the entire mechanism needs to be adjusted. The counter part of the structure from Kalina is made in the form of a U-shape, so it can be easily installed on the remaining part of the previous closing device and its cylinder, which was left without its working mechanism.

The wiring can be routed directly inside the trunk door, leading into the vehicle interior. In the cabin, it can be put under the trim, and laid along the rear pillar to the bottom. From below it can be hidden under sound insulation and rugs. The button should be placed in the interior of the VAZ 2109 in a convenient place so that it does not interfere and is easy to reach. You need to connect the button via a relay. It will supply “plus” to its winding, and it will redirect it directly to the gear motor, which is connected to the rod of the closing device.

To replace the hood latch, place a wrench on the locknut and loosen it. Next, use a screwdriver to remove the lock retainer. We insert a new part and assemble the structure in reverse order.
If there is a need to install a new safety rope, then we proceed according to the following algorithm. First, pry off the lock washer with a screwdriver. Next, using pliers, remove it from the safety cable. Then we pull out the axle and remove the spring. We install the new cable in the reverse order.
