The price of Lada Vesta has been worrying the country for several months now. And although different amounts are constantly mentioned, I would like to believe the president of Avtovaz, Bo Inge Andersson, who said about a month ago that the cost of the sedan would be 475-495 thousand rubles . Actually, the main goal of the domestic manufacturer is to give Russians a “C” class car with a price tag less than what their main competitors are asking for with their “B” class models. That is, more car for less money. Of course, if the build quality of the Lada Vesta does not let us down, then this will be a very interesting option for many buyers.

Updated Lada Vesta: appearance and start of production
Today mass production of restyled Lada Vesta cars has begun. The first car of the updated family to come off the assembly line was the Vesta SW Cross station wagon, golden in color, in the maximum configuration. However, so far AVTOVAZ has only revealed the appearance of the restyled model: images of the interior and official information about modifications and trim levels will appear later.
So, Vesta has been updated after six and a half years of production: the sedan entered the assembly line in September 2015. Restyling turned out to be easy: both the stampings and the stampings on the sidewalls were preserved. The body hardware basically remains the same, although all versions have a new trunk lid (the sedan has additional stampings on the vertical part). Vesta has acquired new bumpers, and the rear of all versions now has an imitation of two exhaust pipes.
There were different headlights and narrower taillights. All optics (including foglights) are now LED with cool white light. The radiator grille is also new, with an enlarged logo, and for Cross versions a separate “grill” with large cells has been prepared. Wheel design has been changed. It is also stated that Vesta has new safety systems: additional sensors on both bumpers ensure the operation of not only parking sensors, but also a blind spot monitoring system.
Alas, this is all official information for now. Although it is already known that the Lada Vesta will have a seriously redesigned interior. Spy photos of pre-production cars appeared back in September last year: the top version will have a media system with an enlarged screen (with “portrait” orientation) and expanded functionality. The protruding top of this tablet can be seen in the company pictures. Vesta will be the first production Lada with a virtual instrument cluster, and the climate control unit with three rotating knobs and displays built into them will be borrowed from the Renault Arkana and Duster crossovers.
The recently published OTTS (Vehicle Type Approval) confirmed that there will be no changes under the hood - at least at the start of sales. Vesta will retain the VAZ engines 1.6 (106 hp) and 1.8 (122 hp) paired with a manual transmission, a methane version of the 1.6 engine (106 hp on gasoline and 96 hp on gas) , as well as a Renault 1.6 engine (113 hp) with a CVT. But the Cross versions will get the Ride Select system, which is already known from the XRAY Cross hatchback: using the washer on the center console, you can select the off-road or sports mode of the driving electronics. As for Vesta Sport with a forced 1.8 engine (145 hp), it will remain in its pre-reform form for now.
The updated Lada Vesta will go on sale in the spring, so AVTOVAZ will publish all the details very soon. Now the pre-reform Vesta costs from 863 thousand rubles.

Even five years ago, few people believed that AvtoVAZ could design and release a car that could be compared with real foreign cars without any concessions. Now, from magazine pages and TV screens, we receive information over and over again that such a car has finally appeared. Its name is Lada Vesta.
But aren't the factory workers wishful thinking? It is extremely difficult to move from the production of obsolete and absolutely unremarkable “semi-finished products” to the production of a truly competitive car in such a short period of time. And only now we have the opportunity to test drive the Lada Vesta and find out how good the long-awaited new Vesta is.
Appearance of the new Lada Vesta
If we rely solely on appearance, it turns out that the sedan can be placed on the same level as its competitors. And due to the fact that domestic cars have not yet filled the streets of our cities, the effect of novelty plays a role. Even owners of expensive foreign cars are looking after the Lada Vesta. And those car enthusiasts who are planning to purchase a new, relatively affordable car in the near future, without any hesitation, inspect the new Vesta that comes their way from all sides.
And the domestic sedan has something to show. A new branded front part made in the X-style, X-stampings on the sidewalls, proportions adjusted to the standards of the class of budget sedans - the appearance of the new Lada Vesta has many elements that will definitely appeal to potential buyers.
