The relay, which is located in the VAZ-2114 stove, is responsible, among other things, for sufficient heating of the car interior. Therefore, if the car does not warm up well, it is time to determine whether the heater is malfunctioning; perhaps the reason lies in a worn relay. The difficulty of restoring a relay is that the part cannot be repaired; it can only be replaced with a new unit.
How to get to the right fuse
Almost the entire electrical circuit of the VAZ 2114 is protected by sharp fusible elements. The most powerful consumers, such as headlights, electric fuel pump, etc., are connected via a relay. Most of the fuses are located in the so-called VAZ 2114 fuse block. However, there are exceptions to this circuit:
- There is a fog light relay near the battery in the engine compartment;
- The fuses for the injection system are mounted under the instrument panel.
To dismantle VAZ 2114 fuses, no special tools are required, so first of all, look at the VAZ 2114 fuse box, which is located under the hood of the car facing the driver, next to the left pillar. To open the fuse box, which is protected by a plastic cover, you must carefully move a pair of cover latches towards you, lift and remove. After this, you can immediately see the modules responsible for the electrical safety of various vehicle systems.
Removal and replacement
If any device does not work, the first thing to do is to look for the cause with the easiest action, and this is inspecting the fuse. That is, first we look for the required fuse that is responsible for a specific device, then we check it to see if it is intact or burnt out.
How to replace a fuse:
- Open the hood, disconnect the ground (-) of the battery.
- Open BP.
- On the inside of the block cover there is a designation where and which fuse is located.
- Remove the fuse.
- Install a new one and check.
The purpose of each of the fuses on the car
If you lift the removed cover, inside you will see a diagram of the location of the relays and fuses in the mounting block (fuse block). All these elements are numbered on it and have designations from F1 to F20. Of course, everyone is responsible for the operation of various consumers in the vehicle’s electrical network:
- F1 - rear fog lamp and warning lamp for turning on the latter (10 A);
- F2 - turn signal switch relay, VAZ 2114 alarm system, turn signals (10 A);
- F3 - front and central lighting of the interior, trunk, on-board computer and brake lamps (7.5 A);
- F4 - heated rear window (20 A);
- F5 - sound signal, cooling fan (20 A);
- F6 - electric windows (30 A);
- F7 - electric motor of the heater, front window, washing machine, glove box lamp, cigarette lighter (30 A);
- F8, F9 - fog lights, right and left, respectively (7.5 A);
- F10, F11 - left side indicator, as well as right side indicator, indicator for turning on the dimensions, room lighting, as well as a backlight lamp for instruments, ashtrays (7.5 A);
- F12, F13 - right and left low beam, respectively (7.5 A);
- F14, F15 - left and right high beam, respectively (7.5 A);
- F16 - turn signals, dashboard warning lights - parking brake, low battery, etc., as well as on-board computer (15 A);
- F17-20 - reserve 7.5, 10, 30 and 20 A, respectively.
The VAZ 2114 fuse diagram also contains backup fuses for 7.5, 10, 20 and 30 A, located in the lower part of the VAZ 2114 fuse block. Having pulled out the allegedly blown one, you should visually inspect it. If it is clear that the integrity of the wire is broken, then we can definitely say that the reason for the inoperability of the vehicle equipment lies precisely in the failure of the fuses. It is possible to replace a failed one with a reserve of the same power according to the data presented in the diagram on the back of the plastic cover of the mounting block.

The electric motor of the heater fan (“stove”) on VAZ 2108, 2109, 21099 cars and their modifications is a commutator, DC motor with excitation from permanent magnets. Has three rotation speeds. The speed is selected by a four-position switch on the instrument panel. Below are the electrical diagrams for connecting it.

Notes and additions
— The fan electric motor can be connected to the on-board network either directly (highest speed) or through an additional resistor having two resistance spirals (0.23 Ohm and 0.82 Ohm). If both spirals are included in the chain, the speed is low, if one is 0.23, the speed is average.

If your stove in your VAZ-2109 car has stopped functioning, this will undoubtedly cause inconvenience when operating the car. A faulty heating device is a big problem for drivers, especially in winter. It is impossible to drive with a non-working heating system, especially since this is fraught with colds not only for the driver, but also for his family members. Today you will learn how to independently solve such a complex problem as a breakdown of the heating system in the “nine”.
The radiator is an important part of the VAZ-2109 car. Heating of the interior of any car is provided by ordinary air. It is heated by a radiator, which is part of the cooling system of a car engine. If there is a malfunction, your car becomes covered in steam fumes, which blocks visibility. You have to constantly wipe the windows to see the road, and this is fraught with an accident.
How to properly replace a burnt out element
It is necessary to remove fuses from the corresponding connectors using special plastic tweezers, which can be found here, in the upper right corner of the VAZ 2114 mounting block. You cannot pry fuses on de-energized circuits with any metal objects due to the risk of a short circuit. It should be taken into account that the electrical circuits of the sound signal, alarm, etc. Always under tension. To ensure safety when repairing circuits, the circuit must be de-energized - just disconnect the wire from the negative side. » Terminal.
It is not always possible to visually accurately determine the performance of fuses. It will be possible to determine unambiguously only after the “call”. To do this, you will need a regular tester, which you will need to set up in composition mode in advance. After this, it will be enough to simply connect the two terminals of the tester to the suspicious fuse terminals. If a characteristic sound is heard, the fuse is tripped - the cause of the malfunction of the car's equipment is not in it, but probably somewhere further in the wiring or in the device itself.
Lastly, never use copper “inserts” or fuses that are not rated for amperage. Using an inadequate replacement designed for a higher current may damage the device's printed circuit "track" and even cause the electrical device to fail. Insufficiently strong fuses will not be able to ensure long-term and uninterrupted operation of the current consumer in the vehicle's electrical network.

Let's try to figure out why the heater fan on the VAZ 2114, 13, 15 may not work.
To understand that your heater fan is not working, you just need to try turning on the heater at different speeds while the car is running. If the fan is running, you will immediately hear a noise. By the way, if the fan operates at one speed, the problem is in the additional resistor or stove mode switch.
Causes of failure
The heating system can break down in the summer, but the owner of a VAZ-2109 can detect a breakdown only in winter, because no one turns on the heating in the warm season. There are situations when the driver does not have the opportunity to go to the nearest service station to repair the car. Any car owner should be able to start and repair his car on his own. If you are the owner of the well-known VAZ-2109 car, read the reasons why the stove does not work:
There are very few reasons why the stove does not work in a VAZ-2109 car. As a rule, at the second speed the stove should heat well. It is not always possible for a car owner to contact an auto electrician or auto mechanic. Moreover, finding a good specialist in our time is not at all easy. Skillful hands and a smart head are used.

Why might the fan not work?
The fuse has blown.
Fuse number F7 with a current of 30A is responsible for the operation of the stove fan. If this fuse blows, your car's cigarette lighter, headlight washer, glove compartment light, and rear window defroster will also not work. Therefore, checking this article is quite simple. Troubleshooting is more difficult because if your fuse is blown, there is a short somewhere that needs to be found before installing a new fuse.
The contacts in the mounting block have become sour.
Oxidized contacts are a very common problem. To make the fan work, just move the wires going to the mounting block.
The ignition relay is stuck.
If your stove is faulty and only turns on when it warms up, then the problem is in the ignition relay. In this case, the only useful thing is to replace the relay, which is located under the instrument panel.
The stove only works in the third position.
In this case, it is necessary to replace the additional resistor, because in the first two positions the current passes through it to the stove.
The heater switch does not work.
Use a 12 volt light bulb to test the switch. To access the heater switch, you must remove the center console of the dashboard. Now we do the following: turn on the ignition; We throw a negative wire from the light bulb to the body, and connect the other one in turn to pins 1-2-3 on an additional resistor. If the light comes on, the switch is working. If it does not light up, the bulb must be connected to the positive wire of the position switch (blue-yellow wire). If the light does not light up, you need to check the fuse or look for an open circuit.
The fan is not working.
If you've checked everything and the fan still doesn't work, it's either burned out, has poor ground contact, or the brushes are stuck in the motor.
How to check the serviceability of the VAZ-2114 heater relay
To understand the condition of the heater relay, you need to carry out diagnostics yourself.
If you are interested in the VAZ-2114 heater relay, namely where it is located, experts answer - on the center console under the instrument panel. To check the device, perform the following steps:
- Take an ohmmeter or multimeter that is suitable for the VAZ-2114.
- Measure the resistance values with the equipment.
- Check the functions of the holding coil by connecting one end of the tester to the connection terminal of the device and the other to the housing.
- Focus on the retractor winding. The terminals located here go directly to the bolt for connecting the pulse excitation winding in the starter electric motor and the bolt of the wire responsible for controlling the heating mechanism of the VAZ-2114.
- If there is no resistance, then the relay has indeed failed.
