Body dimensions are an important parameter when selecting a car. It must be taken into account depending on the purpose for which the vehicle is intended to be used and in what driving conditions. A large car is safer for country trips, but more difficult to drive in the city and less maneuverable. Of course, wheel size is also important. After all, the vehicle’s cross-country ability, its stability, as well as the maximum load it can withstand without the risk of sinking to the asphalt depend on it. The dimensions of the Lada Vesta make this sedan or station wagon an optimal option for city driving, as well as comfortable for country trips on well-paved roads.

All cars made on the basis of the Lada Vesta, namely the SV and SV Cross station wagons, as well as the Cross sedan, have the same size wipers. This is done for maximum unification. Here's what we have:

- The more modern Lada Vesta SV station wagon has different dimensions. Thus, the length of the machine and its width remain unchanged - 4410 mm and 1764 mm, respectively. But the height has changed. The car became 1508 mm tall. Weight without equipment 1280 kg.
- Larger and more impressive than its “brothers” is the Lada Vesta SV Cross. Its dimensions are 4424 mm in length, 1785 mm in width, 1537 mm in height. The weight of the empty vehicle is 1280 kg, and the maximum loaded weight is up to 1730 kg.

Lada Vesta is the most progressive and developing project of the domestic automaker. I can’t say that only the most advanced developments were used in the car. But structurally, Vesta is as close as possible to its foreign competitors - Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio, Volkswagen Polo. The windshield wiper design is similarly borrowed from competitors. Of course, with its own shortcomings and characteristics.
The windshield wipers are driven by a conventional electric motor, which moves the windshield wipers through a trapezoid.
By the way, when disassembling the Lada Vesta sedan, it turned out that the motor is manufactured by Bosch, but in China. However, the Chery logo on the motor body paints a complete picture - most likely the trapezoid with the motor was adapted from some model of the Chinese brand. You may not see such a picture in the latest models, but this is exactly what happened in the early Vesta models.

1. During the winter season, ice freezes on the factory wiper blades, which reduces the efficiency of the wipers. And the very mobility of the wipers in cold weather worsens greatly.
2. The Vesta wipers themselves have a rather flimsy design.
3. Since the factory size of the Lada Vesta SV windshield wiper blades is 600 mm and 450 mm, and the size of the glass is slightly larger, areas that are not completely cleaned remain. This problem can be solved quite simply - replace it with larger wipers.
Basic faults
The first important malfunction is the incompatibility of the windshield with the windshield wipers. The standard wipers managed to cause a lot of trouble for the owners of the first Vestas.
- Firstly, they are quite short for a large transparent shield and do not cover its entire area, but only part of it.
- Secondly, the rubber on the wipers quickly hardens in sub-zero temperatures, which is why the area of contact with the windshield is sharply reduced to a minimum - the effectiveness of such work is extremely low.
The second problem is scratches on the side windows. The seals on the doors are very tight against the windows. When grains of sand, ordinary dust and dirt appear between them, vertical scratches appear on the sides. Replacing and slightly modifying the rubber seals on the doors can save you from this.
The problem with the windshield is not only due to chipping. If you hear a squeaking sound from the front, the culprit may be the upper rubber seal. If the interior seal is broken, the windshield will have to be replaced.

By the way, the mounts on the brushes are ordinary hooks, as we are accustomed to seeing on all Asian cars (Toyota, Nissan, Kia, etc.) and domestic ones (Priora, Kalina).
To replace, you can use brushes of a larger size - 610 mm and 480 mm. They stand up great and clean better. The rear brush is 30 cm from the factory, but you can safely set it to 33 cm.
By manufacturer, we can mention Denso brushes (expensive, but worth it) and Lynx (cheap, but enough for a year and a half). Bosch also copes with the task, judging by the reviews, but I personally have never used them.
Replacing windshield wiper blades Lada Vesta SV Cross
There is nothing special to write about replacing brushes, since all the work is done in 5 minutes maximum and is familiar to any car owner. Everything is done very simply. When the hood is closed, the wiper arm (brush holder) rises up, the old brush is simply pulled off, a new one is put on in its place and the arm falls down. If the brushes are not changed for a long time, then sometimes the brush is difficult to remove from the driver, so before replacing, you can lightly lubricate the driver with WD-40. And after a while you try to remove it.
Replacing the Lada Vesta windshield - removal and installation
If the damage to the windshield is too serious and regular repairs are not enough, you will have to think about replacing it. It’s better to replace it with Bor – the “Business” class makes itself felt with its quality, because a good part will stay in its place much longer. For repairs, prepare:
- Plastic spatula;
- Rags;
- Gloves;
- Stationery knife;
- Sealant.
The work must be done with a partner - the part is very heavy, it is undesirable to break it. First you need to wash the car - especially in those places where you are going to carry out repair work. Then drive the car into the repair area and start working:
- Apply the parking brake and remove the negative terminal from the battery. The second point is not always mandatory, but this is what the manufacturer “wills”. If you are going to connect heating and a rain sensor, it is better to disconnect the network.
- Open the hood, take out the plastic frill, remove the wipers.
- Pry up the rubber seals and carefully remove the glue using a knife. First, go along the entire length, without lowering the knife deep into the crack.
- Go over the joints again and disengage the glass.
- Pry it with plastic spatulas and squeeze it out.
- Clean the working surface - the points where the new windshield will come into contact with the body parts.
- Press the new one into place, adjusting all the gaps correctly.
- Fill the gaps with sealant.
- Carefully and methodically place the upper rubber seal on the windshield.
- Check the installed part for leaks.
After repairs, handle your Vesta carefully, or better yet, put it to “rest” for a couple of days. If this is not possible, avoid sudden movements (especially sudden braking), install new windshield wipers, and refrain from car washes with high pressure water.
Winter wipers Lada Vesta
For residents of cold regions, there is an opportunity to slightly improve the performance characteristics of factory wipers. This can be done by installing so-called winter wiper blades.
They differ from ordinary ones in the presence of a special cover made of thin frost-resistant rubber and a higher wiper rubber. Due to this, the frame of the wipers does not get cold in the cold, and snow and ice do not stick to the rubber band so much. Such wipers can only be used in winter, since in summer the cover can be damaged by the sun.
Windshield blades
Lada Vesta has standard frame-type wipers with dimensions:
- driver's - 600 mm;
- passenger - 450 mm.
The owners of this car do not complain about the performance of the standard brushes. There is no rush to change them to frameless ones to improve glass cleaning, but the result can be improved. This is not about choosing the manufacturer/company of the accessory, but about the size of the wipers. After taking measurements it turned out that:
- the distance between the brushes in the resting position is 35 mm;
- from the edge of the passenger brush to the right body pillar - 40 mm;
- from the edge of the passenger blade to the top edge of the glass - 80 mm;
- from the edge of the driver's blade to the top edge of the glass - 50 mm;
- from the edge of the driver's brush to the left body pillar - 280 mm.
Based on these readings, you can install longer blades, which will increase the cleaning area of the windshield. For example, replace the driver's 600 mm brush with 610 mm, or the passenger's 450 mm with 480 mm.
What size wheels and tires
The wheel size of the Lada Vesta is also an important parameter that should be taken into account when choosing a car. This is one of the most important factors affecting the handling and maneuverability of a car, its behavior on the road - for different driving styles and different road surfaces.
Every driver knows that this indicator is changeable. That is, if you wish, you can put wheels of a different size on your car, affecting its dynamic characteristics. The vehicle manufacturer indicates in the manual the recommended parameters, compliance with which will not bring any trouble. Lada Vesta tire size installed and recommended by the manufacturer:
- sedan and station wagon – 185/65 R15, 195/55 R16;
- cross – 205/50 R17,
- sport - 205/50 R17.
The dimensions of the Lada Vesta disks in this case will be as follows:

The Lada Vesta tire size may differ from these parameters. Often the driver hopes in this way to increase the vehicle’s cross-country ability and improve its performance. However, when installing wheels at your own discretion, you should take into account that the car was tested and certified on those specified by the manufacturer. How other options will behave is unknown. It is likely that the modified car will become less stable and difficult to control. In addition, unauthorized installation of cross rims on the Lada Vesta, the size of which is not regulated, can lead to problems with the traffic police and technical inspection, and repair of the chassis under warranty will not be possible.
Rear window blade Lada Vesta SW
The standard size of the rear brush is 280 mm. You can increase the cleaning area by installing a larger brush. For example, a 330 mm brush (Bosch 3 397 011 306). It is 2.5 cm longer and has a slightly different shape for a stick-hook (the original one is more square, while the Ford one is rounded), but it fits perfectly.
