Other errors of this model

The appearance of the message R99 on the Starline A93 alarm key fob is not an error code. The indication indicates the activation of unlimited support for the ignition circuits during the process of reserving the program neutral. SP or 5P

If L9N is written on the display and the stop does not work after arming, then polling the state of the security complex is simultaneously blocked. To solve the problem, you need to check the switching circuits. When connecting negative power to the standard wires, the signal may disappear, which is perceived as the presence of the driver in the cabin. After connecting the appropriate cables to the car body, the defect disappears, the engine starts remotely or using automatic algorithms.
The communicator issues an SLA code (erroneously called SIA due to the font on the display) when Slave mode is activated. If the driver turns on the security equipment with the standard key, the communicator receives a feedback signal from the alarm system. A similar message appears when the security system is disarmed, which is not a malfunction. If autostart does not work when the code is displayed, you should check the settings of the central unit and the reliability of the installation of patch cords.
How to identify and change a dead battery in a key fob
The first thing you need to do when the alarm key fob does not work is to pay attention to the state of its battery, the insufficient charge of which is not able to ensure full signal transmission to the security system unit and, accordingly, it will not operate. You can determine the state of charge of the power supply by the dimming screen of the key fob or on the corresponding indicator icon. This malfunction can be eliminated by replacing the battery, after which the key fob can be fully used. It is changed using a small screwdriver, which is used to unscrew the screw connecting the halves of the key fob to each other. Having unscrewed the screw, the key fob is carefully disassembled and access to its power element is opened, which must be picked up and pulled out from the workplace, installing a new one there, and reassembling in the reverse order.

But its display is intended not only for ease of setup and signaling of intrusion into the car. Additionally, it performs the following functions:
- alarm;
- watch;
- timer.
The number of control buttons depends on the model: the more multifunctional the “signal” is, the greater the number of keys it has.
The main key fobs can have up to 5 buttons.
The additional control panel does not have an information display and is equipped with three or four keys. With its help you can perform basic operations:
- turn off the alarm;
- activate car security;
- turn off the siren, etc.
Manufacturers can equip the alarm with an additional key fob - a copy of the main one with similar functionality.
What to do if the alarm does not go off from the key fob
Quite often it can happen that the alarm system does not see the key fob after replacing the battery in it or turning off the power supply to the vehicle's on-board network by removing the battery. This means that there was a memory failure in the security system, as a result of which all key fobs previously registered in it were erased. In this case, it is necessary to restart the process of recording key fobs, which is performed as follows:
- The location of the service button of the security system control unit is located, it is pressed seven times and the car ignition is turned on. After which the system siren will emit seven beeps.
- After this, on the key fob itself, buttons No. 2 and No. 3 on the key fob are simultaneously pressed and held until the moment when the siren in the car and the key fob itself emit one sound signal, which means the end of the recording process in the memory of the control unit. Next, the alarm should begin to fully operate from the key fob buttons.

The driver of the vehicle can independently remove the OS 7 error by checking the functionality of the components of the security system. Car owners note cases of blocking the operation of the power unit or spontaneous activation of the security mode when the car is moving. Self-determination of engine operation does not work correctly
If the engine condition is incorrectly determined, the motor shaft is cranked with an electric starter, and then the engine starts to work. In the absence of a feedback pulse, the power unit stalls, which leads to the appearance of error “OC 7” on Starline. The solution to the problem is to change the algorithm for checking the operation of the motor.
To determine the parameter assigned during programming, you must perform the following steps:
- After turning the ignition switch to the AC position, press the Valet switch 6 times.
- Set the key to the active ignition position, which will cause the siren to emit 6 signals.
- Submit a request by pressing the settings button (11 times). Wait for feedback; the display will show the value of the programmed parameter.
- Set the operating parameter; it is recommended to set the control via the tachometer or via the car’s digital bus.
Incorrect operation of limit switches on doors
A common reason for the appearance of the “OS 7” code on the Starline key fob is a malfunction of the limit switch located on the doors or trunk lid. After locking the doors and turning on the security mode, the engine continues to run (similar to the turbo timer). To check, you need to turn off the turbo timer (if the function was active).
Then the neutral position reservation algorithm is passed through. The control diode operates in continuous mode when the parking brake is applied; when the door is unlocked, the lamp goes into flashing mode. After the door is locked, the indicator goes out, and after the protection mode is turned on, the power unit stops. The A93 alarm system provides switch interrogation. With the doors open, the handbrake is applied, the ignition is turned on, and button 3 (with the triangle symbol) is pressed. The faulty panel will not be displayed in dark color on the display.
Problems with the standard immobilizer crawler
To ensure starting the engine without a key, an immobilizer bypass is used, which emulates the signal from the standard key. In the event of malfunctions, the operation of the starting and ignition circuits is disrupted, and the code “OS7” on the display indicates to the owner the problem that has arisen.
To check the operation of the device, it is recommended to start the engine with the key in the lock.

One of the most common problems of many security systems and, accordingly, the A91 is that the alarm goes off on its own for no apparent reason, which is due to the increased sensitivity of the so-called shock sensor, which has several settings and is located in the vehicle interior. To carry out independent diagnostics of the sensitivity of the sensor settings, it must be turned off, for which you will need to perform the following steps:
- On the key fob with the display, press button No. 1 with a short double press, after which the car’s headlights should blink twice, and the key fob will emit a short sound melody and display on the icons the shutdown of signals from the shock sensor, called the first level.
- Next, the second level of sensor adjustment is turned off, to do this you need to press button No. 1 on the key fob twice again, after which the car’s head optics should blink three times, and the key fob should emit three short beeps and display icons for temporarily turning off the shock sensor on the display.

Security systems use a diagnostic system that displays an error code on the communicator display. How to adjust car alarm sensitivity
The required sensitivity of the car alarm is set using the regulator located on the body of the shock sensor, which, depending on the model, can be a push-button or in the form of an adjusting screw. The setup process looks like this:
- The negative terminal of the car battery is disconnected or the fuse responsible for interior lighting is removed, this will avoid possible battery discharge.
- The location of the sensor itself is located, which is most often mounted under the front panel, closer to the pedal block, after which the alarm system is switched to service mode with the “valet” button.
- The sensitivity setting scale has 10 options, in which 0 is the minimum and 10 is the maximum value. During installation of the security system itself, its sensitivity is set to a value from 4 to 5, as the manufacturer recommends, and the setting can be changed no more than 10 times.
- When starting a gradual decrease in sensitivity, it is necessary to take into account the weight of both a fully loaded and unloaded vehicle, thereby ensuring the absence of false alarms.
During this procedure, special attention must be paid to the mounting location of the shock sensor, which must be mounted directly on the vehicle body; if this is not the case, it must be moved.
Why don't the doors close when I press the key fob?
The problem in which the A91 alarm does not close the doors is either burnt fuses or faulty wiring, or a mechanical failure of the central lock itself. You can check the operation of the central locking using the key, inserting it into the driver's door and closing the car; if successful, it means that the lock is working.
Fuses
After checking the functionality of the central locking, it is necessary to inspect all electrical wiring connectors from the alarm control unit going to the driver's door. Often the problem arises precisely because of poor contact in the connectors, or check all the fuses of the security system; if burnt ones are found, simply replace them with new ones.
Starline app doesn't work
The Starline mobile application is available for many alarm models, including E90 and A92. This application allows you to control many alarm functions remotely. But it happens that the phone does not see the car or does not trigger. As a rule, the reason is maintenance work on the server - over time, the system restores functionality. Also, to determine the problem, you need to send commands directly from the computer, and not from the phone, in order to understand whether the problem is the server or the application on the mobile.
