How to autostart from a key fob
In all modern Starline alarm systems, auto start from the key fob is included in the list of standard options. Therefore, there is no need to purchase and install additional mechanisms. It starts automatically using an intelligent system.
It connects the main unit of the security and telematics complex with the keys held by the owner. In this case, the device selects the frequency for communication independently, which does not allow attackers to intercept the signal.
You can start the car engine using the key fob in two modes: remotely before starting to move or automatically after a certain period of time or when the temperature of the power unit reaches a certain temperature.
The first method is relevant for those who prefer to get into a warm car and immediately go about their business. The second is used by car enthusiasts living in particularly harsh climatic conditions, when the internal combustion engine cannot be allowed to cool down for a long time, because it may not start back up.
Remote start for warming up before driving for all Starline models is activated by pressing button “1” on the key fob, and then button “3”. For periodic warming up, use the “2” button, but you need to set the operating mode in advance.
This is usually done by the installer during installation and preparation of the security complex for operation. So just check if the modes work on your car.

Reasons why autorun does not work
Sometimes it happens that this function does not work.
For example, the starter turns the engine, but it does not start. In this case, it is necessary to check the presence of gasoline in the tank, as well as the charge of the battery. In this case, the key fob displays information and immediately writes an error. To reset the protocol, you need to start the engine again with the key and tighten the handbrake. Then remove the key from the ignition, open the driver's door and activate the alarm again. Usually the car is armed again, and the OS7 error simply disappears. However, this is not always the case. Duration of pressing key fob buttons

In the first, that is, already slightly outdated, options, the algorithm looks like this: for three seconds you press the “1” button, and then, after the key fob makes a loud sound, make another short press of the “3” button. After this, the engine will automatically start in accordance with the settings.
On modern security and telematics systems, it is enough to press the first button for two to three seconds. After this, the device will make a loud sound, and autostart will start working. There is one more method, used much less frequently than the previous ones - activating the automatic start of the power unit using the icon on the key fob.
After the car receives a signal from the master key, the head unit makes the first attempt to start the engine. In normal weather conditions, with a working car, this will be enough.
But if the engine does not start, the security-telematics complex will make a new attempt, then a third or fourth. In this case, the starter operating time will increase by two fractions of a second each time.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages characteristic of the power unit autostart option:
- Possibility to start driving in an already warmed-up car. The car owner can start the internal combustion engine remotely, while at home. By the time you start your trip, the engine will warm up.
- Save time. This advantage is especially noted by consumers who are late for work in the morning.
- The ability to operate the car even in severe frost. The presence of periodic starting will prevent the power unit from cooling to critically low temperatures. This helps reduce wear on the structural elements of the internal combustion engine, as well as increasing the service life of the engine as a whole.
Disadvantages of this option:
- High fuel consumption during autostart. When the power unit starts, part of the fuel flies into the pipe without benefit to the engine. If the power unit is started several times during the night, the consumption will be noticeable.
- There is a possibility of a dead battery. When the engine starts, the starter mechanism draws more battery current. This leads to its faster discharge. Therefore, before using the option, you must correctly configure the system. There is no need to set the engine running time to short; it should run for at least 10 minutes. 20 minutes. will be enough to replenish the battery charge.
- Adding to the complexity is that when starting the car, the car must be on the parking brake. You cannot leave the car at speed. Sixth generation security and telematics systems, which is what all of the listed models are called, are distinguished by an innovative method of identifying the owner compared to other types of alarms.
To do this, use a smartphone or smart watch and a Bluetooth Smart channel. This combination guarantees minimal energy consumption, which means the service life of the batteries in the key fob is increased.
On the key fob of any of the listed security systems you will find four keys. To start the power unit, you must press button “1” for a long time, and to stop, press button “2” for the same long time.
In this case, each time you will hear a loud, thin sound, which will indicate that the command has reached the car's head unit.
The remaining keys are used when it is necessary to put the machine into service mode. Their combination is specified in the operating instructions. We do not recommend changing the settings yourself without knowing what it will lead to.

Systems A93, E90*, A94*, B94*, D94*, E95, A95, B95, D95
Some of these models are already considered obsolete. They have been discontinued, which means that service for them has also been reduced. But security and telematic systems remain popular among ordinary people, including for automatic engine start.
To start the power unit or extend its operation for a while, you need to press the “1” key for a long time until the key fob emits two beeps.
You can stop the motor by pressing the same first button, and then the fourth. Yes, these alarm options use more switches for everyday use.
It is important to note: Security systems marked in the title with an asterisk are still being produced. The action protocol for outdated models released before 2015 is the same as described in the text. For younger ones, the same guidelines apply as for models A92, B92, T94.
Work via SMS
The process of working with an alarm via SMS is practically no different from working via the phone (by calling). Except that the activation of a particular command will occur through sending an SMS to the number of the SIM card installed in the alarm. One SMS - one command.
To work via SMS, you must register your device on the alarm manufacturer’s website, then, following the commands on the website (or in the instructions for the alarm), activate work with the gsm module. After activation, you need to send a command to launch the gsm module with your phone. Command - 05 *** or 095 *** (* means a specific code that depends on your alarm model). After the final activation process, we send one or another command, for example, to start the engine - we write an SMS with the text “21” to the “number” of your car. To turn off the engine, we again write an SMS with the text “22”, the engine stops working.

Now let's look at how to enable autostart on a Starline alarm system if one of the models of this generation is installed. To start and stop the power unit in this case, use the following key combination:
- To start the engine, press “1” and “3” in sequence.
- To shut down the engine – “1” and “4”.
In this case, the first press should always be long (2-3 seconds), and the second – short. The first button must be released before pressing the second, otherwise the head unit will receive a different signal and will not be able to automatically start.
It is important to note: During autostart, the security complex independently turns off the wipers and car radio, but at the same time starts heated seats.
What can StarLine A91 do in terms of autostart?
- Random autostart: can be performed at any time when the car is in the area of reliable radio reception or an external GSM module is connected to the alarm system;
- Auto start on alarm clock: the car will start once at the time specified in the alarm clock settings;
- Autostart "Starline A91" using a timer allows the car to independently warm up the engine at intervals of 2,3,4 or 24 hours from the moment the mode is activated;
- You can set the “Starline A91” temperature so that engine warming begins when the engine temperature drops below a specified threshold, but no more than once per hour.

Systems A91, B9, C9
This is the latest, and therefore the smartest generation of car alarms from the Starline brand with automatic start of the power unit from the key fob. In addition to standard functions, these systems boast protection against intelligent hacking, an improved transceiver and luxurious equipment.
As for the autorun option, it is turned on by a combination of keys “1” and “3”, and disabled by successively pressing the buttons “2” and “3”. The duration is the same. First a long press and then a short press.
It is important to note: Security systems of this type are suitable for cars with a “Start-Stop” button. But to install them, you should contact specialists, because incorrect operation can lead to problems with the operation of the machine.
Systems A8, A9
These security and telematic systems are distinguished by broader functionality, including automatic engine start. To start the engine, just press button “1” for a long time. The car is turned off in the same way and is automatically armed.
If you do not want to activate the protection after turning off the power unit, press the “1” key again, but briefly.
Such a sequential action will transmit a command to the head unit to disarm the system. Just do not leave the vehicle in this mode unattended for a long time if you do not want to give criminals free access to it.
Using telematics: mobile applications, StarLine-Online
The main disadvantage of starting from a key fob is the limited communication radius. In the city, it is impossible to start the engine, even if the car is parked on the other side of the house. Near high-voltage power lines, in industrial zones, “dead zones” of radio broadcasts even arise, where communication problems are noted even in direct visibility at a distance of tens of meters. It is convenient to warm up the car in the parking lot at the airport or train station even before arriving at the place, when the key fob will not “finish off” by definition.
From the third generation of StarLine alarms, their owners have access to control via a mobile application or the Internet portal starline-online.ru, if a beacon is connected to the alarm in synchronous mode (third generation) or a GPS/GSM module is installed in the alarm itself (fourth generation and beyond) ), and the alarm is registered on the portal.
Using the mobile app on your phone, starting is simple - on the main screen, press and hold the “engine” icon.
