Power off
The method involves disconnecting the wires and includes the following steps:
- The first thing you need to do is find the alarm unit (usually located behind the dashboard).
- Next, all wires are removed from the block.
- You can try to start the car.
The alarm system can block the fuel pump, starter and other components.
To resolve the problem you will need to do the following:
- Carefully examine the main wire and the alarm cables connected to it.
- A cut standard wire with ends connected to the system for remote control is a sign of a blockage.
- You should disconnect the security system wires and fasten the cut parts.
- Next you need to check the operation of the engine. If no change occurs, check other cuts indicating blockage.

Video about how to turn off the car alarm completely with your own hands. Filmed by Oleg Anosoff channel:
This system can be disarmed without using the transmitter (emergency system shutdown procedure). This is necessary if, for example, the transmitter is lost, faulty or if the batteries are low. You can use standard emergency disarm mode (using the Valet switch) or coded mode (using a programmable personal system disable code). The last mode is selected using function No. 8 (to enable it, contact your installer or see the “Programmable functions” section in the “Installation Instructions”). The procedure for programming your personal system shutdown code is described below (see the section “Programming your personal system shutdown code”). Please note that selecting this feature also determines how Anti-HiJack mode is disabled (“standard” or “coded”).
Standard emergency disarming mode (function No. 8 enabled)
2. Turn on the ignition
3. Within 15 seconds, press and release the Valet pushbutton switch. The alarm mode will turn off, the system LED will go out and you can start the car.
ATTENTION: Please note that this will not put the system in Valet mode. This means that if the passive arming function is enabled, then after the next time the ignition is turned off and all doors, hood and trunk of the car are closed, a 30-second countdown will begin before passive arming.
Emergency disarming of the system using a personal code (function No. 8 is disabled) If the coded disarming mode is enabled, you can program your personal code to disable the system (see the section “Programmable system functions” in the “Installation Instructions”) . The personal code for disabling the system can be any number from 2 to 9. To disarm the system using a personal code:
1. Open the door with the key (the system will work, the siren will turn on, the direction indicators will flash, etc.)
2. Turn on the ignition
3. Within 15 seconds, press and release the Valet pushbutton switch a number of times equal to your personal code (from 2 to 9), then pause.
4. If the correct code has been entered, the alarm mode will turn off, the system LED will go out and you will be able to start the car.
Note: If the security mode does not turn off after entering your personal code, the 15-second time interval may have been exceeded or an incorrect code was entered. In this case, turn off the ignition and repeat the procedure for entering your personal system deactivation code again.
Note: If an incorrect personal system shutdown code is entered 3 times in a row, the system will not accept further attempts to enter the code for some time.

Wiring Diagram Details
There are always two relays inside the main unit. When installing a security alarm, the contacts of these relays are often included in wire breaks. After disconnecting the connector connected to the specified relays, the standard wiring may need to be restored. And recovery is fast.
Install two jumpers by hand, as shown in the figure.
In general, it is better to start dismantling the alarm not by disconnecting the connectors, but by checking whether there is an autonomous siren in the engine compartment. Such equipment is first deactivated, and then disconnected from the car alarm. Manufacturers of security systems supply keys with the equipment.
Appearance
The Valet device looks quite ascetic; as a rule, it is a small elongated cylinder with a round button (and an LED, its presence depends on the alarm model) from which a wire comes.
The button is designed for hidden installation; experts recommend installing it so that there is easy and quick access to it, but it should not be in plain sight.
Possible causes of failure
What are the main errors in the operation of a car alarm that lead to the need to deactivate it? There are not many of them, but it is important to familiarize yourself with each of them:
- Radio interference. This happens most often in large cities, which are filled with cars and various electronic devices. All the variety of electronics that exist today emits a huge amount of radio waves. They all intersect and interrupt each other's work. In particular, the signals that come from the car alarm key fobs of nearby cars, one of which has malfunctions in the alarm system.
- Key fob malfunction. This usually rarely happens, but anything is possible if the keychain was accidentally dropped or wet. Its breakdown can also occur due to damage to the elements inside the control panel. Most often, key fobs simply run out of charge, which is not recommended. Changing the battery in a timely manner should always be a priority. You can check the battery charge by pressing a special button. If the signal light does not light up, the battery must be replaced. This applies to key fobs with one-way communication. On key fobs with two-way communication, the power status of the device is shown on the display.
- Discharged car battery. All systems under his control stop working, including the alarm system. Therefore, it is important to constantly monitor the condition of the car battery. A low battery charge will be indicated by an icon on the dashboard. If it is still discharged, the car will still open with the key. However, in this case the alarm system is activated. To prevent this, you need to deactivate the negative terminal of the battery. And to turn off the alarm system and start the engine, you can “light” one car from another.
You can deactivate the alarm to eliminate the problems described above using the key fob or without it.

Management capabilities
The Panther alarm system supports car control using this Valet button, once in the car you can remove certain restrictions on the operation of the security unit, such as:
- resetting the “Panic” operating mode (if the key fob is broken or does not work, you can open the car with a standard key and, without paying attention to the siren signals, get into the cabin and do certain actions, thereby resetting the “Panic” mode);
- ATTENTION ! For the Panther alarm, to reset the “Panic” mode and unlock other functions of the system, it is necessary that the Anti-HJ (anti-robbery) function be turned off;
- Once in the car, press and hold the Valet button for 10-15 seconds, after which the alarm will sound and the alarm LED will change operating mode - ready, all security functions and locks are disabled;
- if holding the button does not help, then you should use the program code; as a rule, it is standard for alarms - 111, 11, 123 (you need to press the service button the number of times that corresponds to the code numbers).
As we can see, the Valet service button is designed to provide additional vehicle control in difficult situations. The hidden location of this button will allow you to detain the attacker, and the presence of the program code will complicate his task. In addition, if the anti-robbery mode is set, the system will block the main components of the car and prevent it from moving.
Dismantling the signaling, step-by-step instructions
If the standard battery has not been disconnected, the power supply from the car alarm is disconnected as follows: you need to find the pre-flask through which current flows to the alarm, and disassemble the body of the bulb by hand. Then you can remove the fuse so that the supply voltage does not go to the main module.
How to fix this problem is discussed further.
Installing jumpers in the connector terminal block
When installing a security alarm, it can be equipped with immobilizer functions. One or more relays are connected to the break in the wires responsible for powering “important” equipment (fuel pump, starter). The windings of these relays are connected to the main car alarm module (to the blocking outputs).
There are two options:
In the second case, obviously, the engine will not start until current flows through the relay winding.
If it is determined that the first option is being used, then the terminal block is simply disconnected and isolated from the car alarm connector. For the second case, everything looks more complicated. But the situation can be corrected on your own without dismantling the relay. See the main connector diagram.
The blocking relay can be connected to output “1” or to output “12”. Sometimes both options are used, and you, in turn, need to do this:
At one of the steps, the engine will inevitably start.
The functionality of any systems, if they were controlled by a signaling module, can be restored simply by closing the control contacts. But if the relay was connected according to “Scheme 1” during installation, there is no need to install jumpers. Otherwise, by your actions you will activate the blocking instead of disabling it.
Location
The “standard” locations for this button are as follows:
- under the steering column;
- under the glove compartment;
- under the ashtray;
- below, in the area of the center console panel (near the gearbox tunnel);
- It is not uncommon for this button to be located in the driver's door.
Other more hidden locations for this button are:
- behind the radio (it can be easily pulled out, and a service button can often be installed behind it);
- behind parts of the trim that are easy to remove without any tools (under the armrest, in the handbrake area, under the steering casing, under the console false buttons).
Remember that if you install a Pantera car alarm, you yourself have the right to choose the location of this button, the main thing is to do it so that you can quickly use it by turning on the required operating mode of the security complex.
Therefore, when installing an alarm at a car service center, tell the technician information about where you would like to install the Valet button. However, there is a small limitation - you should not shorten or lengthen the button wire for a more convenient location, as this may affect the operation of the alarm.
