- First you need to warm up the engine, for which we let it run for about 5 minutes.
- The car is driven into a garage pit or overpass. With a certain amount of skill, you can carry out all the work without a pit or overpass. In this case, you need to carefully crawl under the car and place a flat container under the crankcase for old lubricant.
- We find the drain plug on the oil pan and use a 17 key to unscrew it. Dark waste fluid will begin to flow out of the crankcase. We wait until it flows out, this usually takes 20-30 minutes.
- After this, we change the filter, which is unscrewed manually without using a tool. In rare cases, the threads of the filter may become rusty, making it impossible to unscrew it by hand. In this case, you can use a special wrench or simply pierce the filter housing with a screwdriver and act as a lever.
- As soon as the old auto lubricant stops dripping from the drain plug, you need to screw in a new filter, then screw the plug into place and carefully clamp it with a wrench. When tightening the filter, you should pour a little oil into it and lubricate the rubber gasket, which will prevent it from burning to the threads and will ensure better sealing of the system.
- We unscrew the filler plug located on the cylinder head. We recommend adding oil using a funnel to avoid spilling it on the engine. Subsequently, such spilled liquid will burn for a long time and cause an unpleasant odor.
- After filling three liters, you should check the dipstick, which will allow you to determine how much oil you have poured into the engine. If necessary, add fluid so that the level is between maximum and minimum.
- Close the filler plug and start the car. Let the engine run for a few minutes, then turn off the engine and check the lubrication level again.
- Inspect the car for leaks and, if necessary, tighten the oil filter or drain plug in the crankcase.

Oil selection
How to choose the right oil? Such liquids are divided into three main types:

General tips for changing oil

Each “flushing” has its own principle, but it looks something like this: drain the oil, add flushing, then start the engine and let it run for 10-15 minutes
It is important to remember here that when washing, the oil filter must also be changed; washing with an old filter is unacceptable. For flushing, you need to buy two oil filters - one is installed during flushing and the second after it is done.
- Early engine oil change. Another option for flushing the engine is to change the oil ahead of schedule; with this method of flushing the engine, surfaces are cleaned in a gentle manner, and the oil, although it acts as a flushing fluid, does not contribute to diluting the oil. This may be news to many, but motor oils also contain detergent additives that simply do their job more slowly than flushing fluids. When replacing early, for example, after 2 thousand. km. mileage, all dirt or sediment is washed off and comes out along with the old oil. When washing this way, the oil filter also needs to be changed. You can do several such early oil changes, for example, after 2 thousand, and then after 4 thousand, in this way you can achieve a better result.
- Complete flushing of the engine in a disassembled state. This method of washing occurs in a completely manual mode, and the power unit itself is dismantled and disassembled almost down to the screw. The washing itself is carried out in various ways, depending on the degree of contamination and the condition of the engine. This can be either regular gasoline or kerosene, or a special cleaning chemical used to wash engines. This method, although it is a last resort, allows you to personally assess the condition of the engine and all its parts.
