The Priora in the standard configuration is a car that, in principle, almost everyone can afford. This particular set is designed for the average wallet. But this does not mean at all that it is too much inferior to the “luxury” and “standard” trim levels. Of course, there are significant differences, but Lada Priora retains its face in any form.
Italian designers from the Carcerano studio worked on the external appearance of the Priora together with Russian manufacturers. Thanks to this, the Lada Priora standard looks quite attractive and has a fabric interior, which is practical and inexpensive. This car model also has bumpers painted in body color and stamped rims.
In addition, in the Lada Priora car, the standard equipment means the presence of a driver’s airbag, ABS, tilt steering and front electric windows.
The standard package includes a 1.6-liter engine with a power of 98 horsepower. In the “luxury” configuration there is already a little more horsepower - 106. Priora is capable of reaching speeds of up to a maximum of 183 km/h. If desired, the car owner can install an additional audio system, air conditioning and heated windshield, for an additional fee, of course.
The standard equipment of the Lada Priora may seem meager to some, but in comparison with the VAZ 2110 model that preceded the appearance of the Priora, changes are obvious. Fans of this car change the struts, install widened rims and lower the “belly” in such a way that, in combination with a body kit, makes the Priora more sporty and even somewhat formidable. The buyer has a choice of hatchback, sedan and station wagon.
The car behaves well on the roads, a fairly strong suspension allows you to easily pass through potholes and speed bumps, although it is better not to drive it off-road, like any other car that is valued and taken care of.
Anti-corrosion treatment in Priora is designed so that the owner does not worry about moisture or heavy precipitation. And the reinforced body, which has passed crash tests with a score of 4 points, also with a bonus in the form of an airbag, makes the Lada an attractive car with a low price.
Driving performance
A test drive of the Priora Lux showed that the suspension is even more comfortable than that of some more expensive cars. Such as Polo, Rio or Solaris. There it is denser, here it is a little softer, but this is better for our roads. She walks normally even over bumps. If it were a little stiffer, handling would be better, but comfort would suffer. Anything softer would be too soft. Here it is quite balanced.
The discs are small, but the suspension was made specifically for them and it handles the road well. The steering wheel is new and comfortable. It's tight when we drive on the highway. When we drive around the city, the electric power steering automatically turns on at low speeds.
The pedals are located normally and work well. Soft, smooth, sensitive brake, electronic pedal. The engine speed does not immediately drop, the car does not jerk when switching.
They installed new type boxes, but this did not affect the switching. The gears are not always engaged the first time; on the Grant they work better. Average fuel consumption is 7.1 liters.
The car has understeer.
There is also ABS, an emergency braking assist system. The engine is quite noisy, but it is the same on cheap foreign cars.

There is also a rain sensor that automatically turns the wipers on and off. The light sensor also works (for example, the headlights automatically turn on when entering a tunnel). There is an option for automatic light control, front and rear fog lights, headlight height and backlight adjustment.
Side airbags. Moreover, the Lada Priora 2016 has them, not like in foreign cars in the roof or pillars, but in the backs of the front seats. There are also front airbags for front passengers, one of them in the steering wheel.
There is climate control, it works surprisingly quietly. Quite simple, the desired temperature is set and there are “Auto” modes or manual adjustment. It works well, maybe not as accurate as on foreign cars.
One of the changes in the luxury version is a heated windshield, but the negative point is that there are small stripes on it.
Another new option is stability control. But it is not visible on the panel whether it is turned on or not. The icon appears only when you turn on the ignition. A radio with a touch screen that can be activated by pressing a button. The speakers play well.
