Car brake
- This is the most important detail in the structure of the entire car.
The brake system should not only work without breakdowns, but simply be in perfect condition. First of all, this concerns the brake pedal in the car’s braking system. In this article we will talk about the correct condition of this part. What should it be
: tight, soft, or will you choose something in between?
The state of force when pressing the brake may vary. The first state will allow you to press the brake pedal without any force, not hard and slowly, and it is important that there are no jerks or, especially, failures, which can be used to judge problems in the system. There are still options when you should contact immediately for a brake inspection - with soft brakes
and tight.
If the brake pedal has become so easy to fail, this indicates that it is necessary to look for faults in the system. A soft brake is the same problem as a hard one, which means that you should look for the reasons and be sure to correct them.
Let's name a few reasons
, due to which the brakes become soft or fail:
Air entering the brake system. This problem can be resolved by the known method of bleeding the brakes to remove all air bubbles.
At the same time, air can enter the brake system in various ways:
there is insufficient amount of brake fluid in the brake system and in the reservoir, as well as a faulty pipeline;
various breakdowns in the head brake cylinder, as a result, in an idle cylinder, the brake fluid is heated and begins to boil. Otherwise, the piston may jam. In this case, you will have to repair the brake cylinders or replace the brake fluid;
Steam (smoke) from the stove nozzles.

I discovered today that I was seeing steam (colorless smoke) coming out of the nozzles. Moreover, as soon as you turn on the stove, there is no smoke, it only comes out when it is turned off and only at a speed of approximately 20 to 40 km/h. When you stand there is no steam. This steam is visible only in the sun, maybe it was there before, but today it’s very sunny, that’s why I noticed it. The taste is antifreeze, plus the windows fog up quickly.
What could it be? The antifreeze is normal, does not leak, the lid is not jammed. Panel 2114.

You are faced with the hassle of replacing the heater radiator.
Damn, that's what I was afraid of. So why exactly on the go and only when the steam is turned off?

When the engine is turned on, the steam dissipates with a large flow of air. If you don’t drive and just let the car run and then turn on the heater, you will notice the first second of steam. You can remove the side of the panel and check for leaks at the bottom of the heater body and possibly wet mats.

Of course, I don’t know, but in Samara-2 they also do without removing the panel when replacing the radiator? ON 1 Samara and both modifications can be replaced with the letter ZYu without disassembling the panel.
Absolutely no way. There are literally a couple of cm missing.

I tried to remove it last fall, I unscrewed the entire panel, I just didn’t touch the steering wheel. I didn’t have enough centimeters, the panel was already cracking.
Since its arrival I have not seen any more steam, and the smell has disappeared. I hope there will be enough for the winter, I just don’t want to deal with such nonsense before selling.
How does the expansion tank work?
The cooling system of a passenger car contains up to 10 liters of non-freezing liquid - antifreeze or antifreeze. During operation, it heats up in a very wide temperature range - from minus 30 °C (in northern regions) to +100 °C when it reaches operating mode. With such a delta, the liquid expands significantly, adding 5 to 10% in volume.
Hence the need for an additional reservoir that performs the following functions:
- Take away excess antifreeze resulting from heating.
- The cooling system of a car is closed and operates under pressure. When coolant enters the reservoir, the air layer is compressed and the pressure increases. To prevent it from pushing out the plug, compressed air is released through the valve.
- During cooling, the reverse process occurs - the liquid leaves the reservoir, and the valve releases outside air so that vacuum does not occur in the pipes (an air lock may appear).
The expansion tank itself is a plastic container of any shape with a lid. The latter is equipped with a bypass valve, which releases/releases air or steam when the antifreeze boils.

Fan motor repair
If the electric motor malfunctions, it should first be removed and then the feasibility of repair should be determined. It is necessary to evaluate the condition of the brushes, armatures, windings, and check the integrity of the wire insulation. The contact area of the brushes on the armature can be cleaned with zero grade sandpaper. You should also pay attention to the bushings and bearings - clean the rubbing parts from dirt and apply lubricant (for example, Litol). All elements with signs of wear must be replaced.

I also travel with newspapers, I have scheduled Khimki for the end of the month. I’ll wash everything, I’ll wash the floor in one
I tested it myself, if there is steam, then it is a radiator. This happened to me and a friend of mine. I replaced it and everything is fine, it’s just a hassle to change.
That's it, they changed it over the weekend) It took us 2 days, but we did it)
I changed the panels without removing them. We loosened its fastenings and moved it a little to the right. Business for about 40 minutes in total. It just takes a long time to dry the floor(
I put newspapers under it, they seem to absorb it, now I’ll go wash it with vanilla)
Are the glasses greasy? Well, a coating of antifreeze
look for a leak) there are no other options
there was no steam, but the stove faucet was leaking, it seemed like an unnoticeable leak, but it was a mess... the carpet, all the factory noise was thrown out, cleaned, moviled, in short, a scribe!
if the radiator of the river is leaking, then look how I changed it in my body, and also how not to run into slag
A familiar situation... All of the above can happen. My heater radiator was leaking, so in order to change it and dry the floor, I had to throw out the entire interior...
there is no need to throw out the entire interior, I pulled it out in half an hour on the advice of an experienced person)) You remove the front passenger seat, unscrew the panel fastening on the passenger side and bend the panel by inserting a piece of wood, and everything is immediately accessible
Without removing the entire interior, I didn’t dry the carpet any other way... it was winter outside)
there is no need to throw out the entire interior, I pulled it out in half an hour on the advice of an experienced person)) You remove the front passenger seat, unscrew the panel fastening on the passenger side and bend the panel by inserting a piece of wood, and everything is immediately accessible
what about the carpet, half of the factory Shumka has already rotted and the floor has begun to rust... in general, I got in there in time)
It’s not a fact that the faucet or pipe may leak and the heater radiator itself is not expensive, but changing it is a complete scribe! Although as an option, look under the carpets for the presence of wet and greasy tasol, there is also an option to check the pipes under the hood
Maybe under your hood, from the pipes that come from the heater valve, it drips onto the exhaust pipe, evaporates and is drawn into the cabin? In general, look at the entire cooling system.
The heater tap is screwed up... feel under the floor mats to see if it's wet...
Guys, there's either smoke or steam coming out of the stove. Antifreeze is in place. What about X?

I was having fun with my pump
Ivan, do you mean the pump? Smoke/steam in the cabin
Victor, is there a smell of tomosol?
Ivan, it smells strange, something like that, but not wiring. Maybe with antifreeze
Victor, this is antifreeze, there’s probably a greasy coating on the glass inside
Alexander, there is no plaque, I checked immediately. Could this be due to the pipe?
Victor, if there is steam, then there is either antifreeze or water on the heater radiator, maybe the fan casing is not sealed and water gets in
Victor, perhaps water gets in after rain through the cabin filter housing! Splashes hit the radiator and steam
Hi all. I need help, VAZ 2114 8klp there is smoke coming from the stove, usually when it comes into the slipper I give it. Moreover, when the stove is running hot or is simply set to a cold air flow, this does not happen, but when it is just standing on the hot mode and does not work, then steam comes out of the VAZ 2114 stove.

Change the gasket on the calector and on the pants
Change the heater radiator and check there should be antifreeze under the passenger mat.

China is doing well everywhere. The copies are amazing...
Old antifreeze or grease evaporates
Alternatively, the antifreeze evaporates. What does that smell like? Exhaust, wires? Maybe on the outlet under the hood it cuts somewhere
After replacing the heater radiator, my interior also stank. It looks like the grease on the radiator is burning or something else is burning. It stank for a long time.
This is what you put in your slipper, and smoke came out of the oven)))
Something is dripping onto my pants and dragging me into the cabin.
As an option, the new radiator is from China and when it heats up, either it smells like lubricant or it is lined with cheap plastic and gives a stink)) well, as an option
the radiator is leaking, if it smells like antifreeze or antifreeze, if the exhaust is emitting, then you need to check the exhaust, it is leaking somewhere
It was the same a month ago. Change the heater radiator, it's leaking.
Alexander, it smelled like tar, so I changed the radiator, and now it smells sometimes and doesn’t seem to be languid
Nikita, This is the situation with the stove. You install a new radiator, turn on the heater, there will be a strange smell for a week (similar to the smell of oil). Don't be alarmed, it's the new radiator that smells like that. Antifreeze does not immediately disappear from there (from the stove body). When I took out the radiator, I wiped the body for about 15 minutes, trying to wipe everything dry. But you can’t wipe everything away; anyway, there won’t be much left in the corner. Ride like this for a week, I keep an eye on the pipes on the stove, clamps, body, so that everything is dry. And the smell will disappear. Wipe off the glass, all the plastic. Because of this steam, my glass was greasy. I wiped the glass with dry cloths, the simplest solution
Alexander, to the point. Everything is exactly like that. Thank you, I hope everything goes well.

To be afraid or not
To begin with, I propose to understand the main points. Here it is important to distinguish when steam really poses a potential threat, that is, it indicates a malfunction, and when there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of.
If we are talking about absolutely safe and harmless smoke, then it should be white, have no odor and no traces of impurities. When the situation develops this way, we are talking about water vapor. Condensation has formed in the exhaust system, that is, a fairly large amount of moisture has accumulated. Now this water begins to actively evaporate due to gradual heating. It all turns into steam. It is in steam that this is important to remember. Because there is another concept. I'm talking about white smoke.
If we see such a picture when white smoke comes out of the exhaust, then it makes sense to suspect the engine or cooling system of some kind of malfunction.
During normal engine operation, the smoke coming out of the chimney should be transparent or close to it. However, on older cars and rather worn-out engines, the smoke becomes more toxic and dirtier.
What's the result?
If this element is present, then checking the catalyst for clogging will be your first priority.
Let's sum up the intermediate results. If white smoke is coming out of your car's exhaust pipe, this indicates high levels of moisture inside the exhaust system. It is important to pay close attention to this nuance. When the engine warms up, all the water should evaporate. Therefore, steam and condensate no longer come out of the pipe. But if the engine has warmed up and smoke continues to pour out, then this is an obvious sign of a problem. Something needs to be done. First, find out the reasons.
There are several possible reasons for this situation.
Let's look at them, and take a separate look at the features of diesel and gasoline internal combustion engines.
Steam is coming from the stove and the glass is fogging up!
Good day to all! I bought a car, drove away for the summer, autumn came, and with it there was a problem: it became cool (5-15 degrees) outside and it began to rain, because of this the windows began to fog up.. to solve this problem, I turned on the heater, set it to the coldest mode and turned on the air conditioner. at first everything was fine, but then, steam began to come from the parts where the air was blowing (especially from the one blowing on the windshield) and because of this the windshield fogged up wildly
I tried to switch the air to my legs, and a warm air began to blow into my legs (even for some time after turning off the blower). I pondered this topic for a long time, then I decided to just turn on the stove, without the air conditioner, it seemed like there was no steam coming out! but the incident left an unpleasant feeling that something was wrong! I surfed the forums, but didn’t achieve much results. Maybe someone else encountered the same problem. what to do and who is to blame?? help, please!

Good afternoon The end of the heater radiator (stove). Search for a self-replacement report. The procedure is tedious and requires precision. The service will cut down a lot. There is NO alternative to replacing the radiator - such as pouring sealant into the system.
After replacing the heater core, make sure that the cooling system hoses are soft on a warm engine. and not solid - bloated. If so, this is just the beginning of serious repairs.
Vanzer said: 09/05/2010 07:03
Could there be something wrong with the Conder itself?? For example, the freon has run out.
Should I be concerned if the brake pedal is stiff or soft after bleeding?
The manufacturer has ensured that the brake pedal is pressed as easily and conveniently as possible. It is important that there is no need to exert significant effort while pressing, and various dips and jerks are unacceptable. Regardless of whether the brake pedal is soft and does not stop well, or there is a problem of some other kind, it is important not to leave things to chance. In general, if the brake pedal fails, then you urgently need to go to a service station or top up the brake fluid yourself. Most likely there is a leak in the brake system.

Steam from the stove in the cabin

Hi all! Please help me where to dig? It became impossible to use the stove inside the car, because... When the heater tap is open, white smoke begins to pour into the cabin. You feel like a hedgehog in the fog, and if music is also playing, then like a hedgehog in the fog at a disco
.
I have suspicions that the heater radiator has received a fender, because... after my last manipulations, namely, replacing the stove tap (I thoroughly installed the last one with sealant, screwed it on, nothing is leaking anywhere), smoke is pouring out!
What do you think, WasenwagenWaters?

Wow. The damper is still wet.
The matter is clear that we need to look into it, but why look? Once you disassemble it, you need to immediately change this heater radiator. In my opinion, if there are no leaks from the stove tap, then I can’t imagine what could be the cause of such smoke other than a faulty stove radiator :ermm:

Yes, the heater radiator leaked. The aluminum one cost just a penny, I went to buy just such a thing, there wasn’t a bigger one for 370 rubles and a copper one for 1150, I bought a cheap toad strangled 1150 to pay, I started putting it in the box because it didn’t fit, I went to exchange it for a copper one. It turned out great below is a photo of the work done:
For one thing, I immediately decided to change the faucet and bought a ball valve for 170 rubles, as you can see in the photo.
I spent the whole day working, I didn’t finish installing the torpedo, but the panel wasn’t there yet. The edge of the stove control knobs broke off when I was attaching the cable to the faucet. Now there’s nothing to screw the fastening bolt to. I wanted to buy a new one in the store. I ran out. Tomorrow I will look in other stores. I'm tired today; I haven't ridden a bike for half a year.
. Even on the alarm, some kind of protection has worked, I put the terminal on the battery, it starts writing quietly, I press the buttons on the key fob and it screams nonsense.
BRAKE SYSTEM DEVICE
Like any other mechanism in your car, the brake system consists of several elements that work together. The VAZ brake system is no exception. It is much simpler both in structure and functionality than in popular foreign cars, but it also deserves attention.
Its main elements are:
- Front wheel brake structures;
- Pipelines (both sides);
- Hydraulic drive main cylinder;
- Tank;
- An amplifier that has a vacuum structure;
- Braking mechanisms located on the rear wheels;
- Two pressure control levers;
- The hydraulic system also has a regulator that controls the pressure;
- Pedal;
- Hoses made of flexible material.
The system is designed so that if one of the circuits fails, the second will provide safe braking. This is done in order to make driving as safe as possible. The brake system of the VAZ 2115 works on the same principle.
- Lever with locking button;
- Cable in a protective sheath;
- Adjustment nuts;
- Equalizer;
- Locknuts;
- Protective cover.
The weak point of the handbrake is the cable . It requires constant attention. Its stretching or rupture can lead to disastrous consequences. It is also worth remembering that the pads are constantly worn out (especially with active use). It is important to pay attention to the brake force regulator of the VAZ 2113.
These are the elements that make up the brake system of the VAZ 2114. Everything is quite simple, both in repair and in preventive maintenance. Any adjustments are also made without much effort. For example, you can adjust the handbrake in half an hour yourself, and adjusting the brake pressure regulator of the VAZ 2114 will not cause stupor even for a beginner. These are the key features of the domestic automobile industry - everything is easy and simple.
Steam with antifreeze comes from the stove.

Look towards the heater radiator. Unfortunately, I don’t know where the heater faucet is located (it can also leak). Check the antifreeze level.
Thank you! I checked the antifreeze - it’s not decreasing. At least not noticeably. But now I don’t drive with the heater on either.

Based on my experience, the radiator is leaking. And the fact that the antifreeze does not decrease is because the hole is still small. For steam, it is enough to ooze out drop by drop. There will also be a coating of antifreeze on the inside of the glass, it’s still that disgusting.
The reason (according to the experts) is filthy antifreeze. They often sell all sorts of crap where the freezing point is lowered not by ethylene glycol, but by all sorts of different salts. Radiators are not friendly with this, especially luminous ones.
In this situation, I removed the radiator in the evening, washed the inside with vinegar and checked it with air in the bathtub, plugging one pipe. When I found where it was gurgling, I cut it around with scissors, cleaned it, dried it with a hairdryer, degreased it and sealed it with epoxy cold welding, so that a little went inside the tube (the radiator was aluminum, copper - it would just have to be soldered). In the morning I put it in place. After that, I used the repaired radiator for several years.
Although, I later realized that it would be better to rinse the entire cooling system with a good etching before removing the heater radiator, so that the scale remaining in the system does not subsequently spoil the new antifreeze (it gradually dissolves it anyway). At the same time, other leaks would appear.
