How to replace the steering tip on a VAZ 2108-VAZ 21099?
Note! Before changing the tip, make sure that this is what your car really needs. To check the tip for play, perform the following operation: drive the car into the inspection hole and grab the steering rod with your hand (there is still a steering tip on it) and shake the steering rod with your hand. Removal: 1. Note! If suddenly you need to change the boot at the steering tip or fill it with more grease, then you will need to remove it as follows: first, the metal ring will need to be removed along the ball joint pin (see photo 1), then prying it with a screwdriver, remove the stopper that holds the boot on the hinge (see photo 2) and you can safely then remove the boot itself from the hinge and fill the joint with grease, just reconnect the boot so that it fits into the groove and fasten it tightly so that no dirt or dirt gets under it moisture!
Installation: The tip on the tie rod is installed in the reverse order of removal and so that the camber does not get too lost, turn it back to the same speed as was said earlier.

Now we take a 27 wrench and try to loosen the nut securing the tip to the steering rod.
It often happens that the tip begins to turn away along with the coupling, since over time it becomes strongly attached to it. In this case, we remove the entire structure, and then with the help of a vice and our own efforts we will have to separate the whole thing.
If everything goes without any difficulties, then the tip is unscrewed clockwise and then removed:
When unscrewing the tips, be sure to count the number of revolutions made, so that later during installation you can approximately maintain the toe-in of the front wheels of the car. Replacement is carried out in reverse order. The price of new tips for the VAZ 2114-2115 is about 700 rubles for a pair of high-quality parts. Rod repair

2. To replace a torn boot, first remove it from the O-ring (photo 3), then remove the snap ring (photo 4) and finally remove the boot itself (photo 5). Once you get inside, check to see if it is very dirty, then remove the grease from the tip (photo 6) and look again to see if dirt has gotten into the inside of the hinge. Got it? – change the tip, no? – put grease directly into the boot, half its volume, and install the new boot in place. Place the edge of the boot onto the seat on the hinge body and securely fasten it with the two rings removed earlier.
Note! Check the tightness of the fit; any hole will soon render the tip unusable due to dirt getting inside.
