At the same time, installing an expensive car alarm on an inexpensive car can hardly be justified. Principles of disabling car alarms

The car alarm can be turned off in two ways. To disable the standard alarm, it is recommended to use the factory method. To disable it, use the “Valet” service button. This is only possible if you know where it is located, located in secluded but accessible places:

  • Directly at the gas or clutch pedals;
  • In the area of ​​the fuse box;
  • In the niches of the steering column;
  • In accessible places on the front panels.

If it is impossible to identify the button in the indicated places to turn off the car alarm, experts advise referring to the instructions. For alarm management, this information is key and must be contained. To disable, use a combination of simultaneously pressing the buttons and one of the pedals or two.

If you fail to turn off the car alarm after several attempts, it may become blocked. The recommended time for holding the alarm button with the pedal pressed should be at least 10 seconds.

The next technique is a coded shutdown, without using a car alarm key fob. Modern devices use button and ignition combinations. Disabling steps can be done manually using several techniques. This option uses a PIN code that is programmed in advance. The combination of symbols is known exclusively to the car owner. The PIN code is programmed with the ignition on and successive pressing of the emergency button. The number of times the button is pressed corresponds to the first or second character of the code.

When setting a PIN code for car alarms with your own hands, the maximum code value of 4 digits is allowed - 9999. In standard alarm systems supplied by manufacturers, the PIN code is not complicated. Let us immediately note: if there are no window lifters, the second diagram will not contain parts K2/K3. Then you only need to cut one wire. Sometimes only the rear windows are missing. This means that relay K3 is excluded. And the diodes connected in parallel with the winding can be absolutely anything.

Now we list the requirements for an element called “relay”:

  1. Operation voltage – 12 Volts;
  2. Switching current – ​​10 A or higher;
  3. The current consumed by all relay windings should not exceed the value specified in the instructions for the signaling. Usually it is 200-300 mA.

It is the last requirement that is often violated.

In order for “scheme 2” to work, it is necessary not only to assemble it, but also to program the main unit: you need to enable the “2-step unlocking” option. And be that as it may, control impulses cannot be made too long. Use values ​​of 0.7-1.1 seconds.

Power cables (cord X1-6) can only be connected using twists.

The cross-sectional area of ​​the wire must be sufficient to withstand a current of “10 Amps” (this does not apply to signal circuits). A fuse protecting the power circuits must be installed. And of course, before installation, remove the negative terminal of the battery.

Disabling without key fob

Disobedience to a car alarm key fob is a rare precedent, but it does happen. The main reason is that the alarm system was assembled and installed with defects that appear over time. The car owner is faced with a dilemma - it is necessary to disable the security device without a remote control. This part of the text is devoted to turning off the system without using the control panel.

The reasons for disconnection can be indirect and objective. Indirect ones include inhibited actions of the key fob that occur due to wear of the remote control battery or accumulator. It is recommended to avoid using the remote control away from the machine.

Another reason when it is impossible to turn off the alarm is that the car battery is discharged. In this case, the owner takes measures to bring the battery into working condition. Next steps are taken with the car alarm.

Objective reasons include worn-out car alarms. In such cases, turning off the device is very problematic. To turn off the alarm, it is advisable to gain access to the service button, or try to turn off the power to the system.

Another reason is that the remote control has lost synchronization with the protection device. When a car leaves the factory, this computer, the electronic control unit (ECU), contains a special EEPROM security file. Only a coded signal from the APS unit (automotive anti-theft system) can turn it on. She sends this signal only after the activation procedure. After setting, check the operation of the sensors, if necessary, repeat the setting procedure.

What does the standard Priora alarm system consist of?

Any standard anti-theft system consists of several elements, it includes:

  • training key;
  • key fob;
  • signal receiver antenna;
  • APS block;
  • lock activators;
  • sound signal;
  • EEPROM section in the ECU.

Training key (transponder)

The key set includes two ignition keys. One of them is the so-called educational one. It has a built-in special semiconductor chip with characteristic magnetic radiation. It is inserted into a special recess in the end part of the key, closed with a red decorative cover. Because of this, such a key is sometimes called a red key. This element is necessary to activate the standard anti-theft system. And for using the car if the anti-theft is not activated.

Key fob

This ignition switch has a key fob built into the handle for a standard alarm, just like a regular car alarm. It has only three buttons:

This is an electronic unit that receives a signal from ignition keys equipped with a chip, or key fob, and gives a command to the car’s computer, which controls the entire ECM system and allows starting and driving, via a special channel. In addition, the APS standard alarm unit transmits signals to the activators of the door and trunk locks, and an audible signal to sound an alarm. On the Priora, the APS unit is built into an additional electrical package control unit, that is, a unit that controls power windows, heating and rotating rear-view mirrors, and other additional devices.

These devices (activators) in the standard Priora alarm system operate as a central lock, that is, when the driver's door is closed with the key, the latches of all doors are closed. They are in a locked position and cannot be opened by simply pressing the handle. Their principle is ordinary electromagnetic coils that move the lock lever, closing all doors upon a signal from the control key fob.

EEPROM file

Just an area in the flash memory section of the control ECU. Upon receipt of a certain message, it is activated in the recorded program. From this moment on, all actions: starting, moving away, central locking are possible only with an activated key fob and a training key. Otherwise, this file blocks operation and turns on the standard Priora alarm system.

What causes a car security system to break down?

As we have already said, a car alarm is a technical device. It consists of various parts and elements that become faulty and wear out over time. There are often cases when problems develop at the most inopportune moment. In this case, the driver has to be pretty nervous.

Now let's make a small digression. It is important to understand here that the quality operation of any technical device depends on a number of factors. What do you think we're talking about? Of course, about timely maintenance and care of the components of the anti-theft system.

Premature, spontaneous malfunctions may be due to the following reasons:

  • Insufficient battery charge of the control panel;
  • Mechanical wear of the button surface of the remote control;
  • Oxidation reactions occurring at the location of conductive parts;
  • Broken power transmission to the ECU;
  • Blown fuses.

The reasons have been found out. How to solve the problem? If it's the battery, then everything is simple - replace it. Worn keys are a common and common occurrence. You can return the remote control for repair or simply buy a new one. In the latter case, you will have to register the key fob in the program. Most often, the keys for opening and closing doors are erased, because they are used more actively.

As for oxidative reactions - how do they occur, why? This happens if the integrity of the key fob is damaged and moisture gets inside it. But this can happen if the remote control falls into a puddle - no one is immune from such incidents. Take the keychain apart to let it dry. If there is no short circuit, the dry remote control will work. If not, replacement is necessary.

Activation of standard alarm

When leaving the factory, the car anti-theft system installed by the manufacturer can be said to be asleep. In order to “wake up” it, or more correctly, activate it, you need to go through a special procedure for activating the standard alarm. This can best be done, of course, by a specialist at a service center. But in principle, this procedure is available to the owner of the Priora himself. You just need to write down the action algorithm on a piece of paper, prepare two keys, a training key and a key fob, get behind the wheel with all the doors tightly closed, and carry out the operation strictly step by step.

  1. Use the red learning key to turn on the ignition for 6 seconds and then turn it off.
  2. The warning lamp in the form of a key on the instrument panel begins to blink rapidly, about 5 times per second. It will flash all the time during the learning process. If the lamp stops flashing before the end of the process, it means an error has occurred and you need to start again.
  3. Before 6 seconds have passed, with the ignition off, remove the red key and insert the immobilizer key fob.
  4. Turn them on the ignition. If everything is in order, the panel buzzer will give 3 signals at once.
  5. Wait another 6 seconds with the ignition on. The buzzer should croak 2 more times in a row, and you can turn off the ignition. Wait until the light on the panel goes out without removing the key from the lock.

Lada Priora Sedan “S line” › Logbook › DIY installation of Starline A91

The other day I installed a STARLINE A91 alarm system on my car. It took me two days, 6 hours each, to install it. But I still spent a lot of this time on debriefing - what, where and how to connect. I read a lot of blogs and decided to write short instructions for installing such an alarm. Let me clarify right away that I did not connect the trunk opening button and the engine blocking relay to the alarm, and I also did not do step-by-step opening of the doors. Let me jump ahead - only four wires need to be cut completely (to the central locking in the door, to the starter, to the standard immobilizer bypass and to the handbrake), we simply connect the rest in parallel.

PS I didn’t take any photos during installation because... I didn't see the point in this.

To begin with, I purchased: 1) corrugated cables. It took me about 6 meters, because... I hid all the wires in it. (the length depends on where you will have the alarm unit)2) electrical tape3) 4 1N4007 diodes (if not included with the alarm)4) wire. (also depends on where the signaling is installed, because the length of some wires is not enough) 5) a standard immobilizer crawler (in which we put the chip) 6) a lot of patience. After all, you’ll have to crawl on your knees under the steering wheel and there’s not too much space there))))

Now briefly about the installation: 1) remove the fuse box cover

The shock sensor is written that it needs to be placed on the body and so that there is access to it for adjustment, but I did not find such a place and placed it to the right of the fuse block on plastic. 9) we hide the service button somewhere but so that you can reach it while configuring the alarm .10) from the engine compartment we pull three wires from the signaling system from the 18-pin connector - orange-gray, black, grey. Gray is the plus for the siren, we connect the minus from the siren to the body. Orange-gray and black we connect to the temperature sensor that comes complete with signaling I bolted the temperature sensor to the engine. We also additionally connect the orange-gray wire to the hood end switch (to the white-black wire) 11) and from the 18-pin connector we pull two wires into the instrument panel - gray-black, orange-violet. Gray - we connect black to brown-white (this is a generator), and orange-violet to brown-blue (this is a handbrake) according to the diagram. (The diode must be connected exactly according to the diagram. The diode designations are present in the picture)

PS later redid the control of engine operation using the tachometer because there were problems with reading the generator. In general, the gray-black signal wire should be connected to the brown-red one in the instrument panel and in the signaling settings, control the engine operation using the tachometer.

How to turn off the standard alarm

    What to do if Priora is not removed from the standard alarm!

    The hazard lights are blinking, the car does not respond to the ignition key buttons. As a rule, several blocks are involved here, which are synchronized with each other.

    New blocks come with non-activated codes inside and can be installed on any car without problems, but once you register (train) the keys, a special code is written into all these blocks, which is synchronized with each other and serves as a standard alarm system. (Immobilizer) As soon as you turn the ignition key, within five seconds there is a poll between the key and the units, if the code matches everywhere, then the engine ECU gives permission to start, if the code of at least one device is not recognized, the engine ECU is blocked and the car does not start.

    The working key is trained using a special red training key. I will not describe the procedure for learning keys; there is plenty of information on the Internet. In fact, the main key is the red training key; it stores a code that, after training, is written into the working key and other blocks.

    Alarm characteristics

    After modernization, the Lada Priora received a device that plays the role of a basic alarm system and received the usual name for such devices - an immobilizer. An immobilizer (from the Latin to paralyze) is a device that, interacting with the electrical control unit, allows you to shut down the operation of the engine and provides unhindered access to the car and its systems.

    By its very nature, the immobilizer security device presents itself in such a situation as a breaker of the electronic circuit that powers the car. And the driver, who has an active key with a microchip built into it, activates (turns on) or disconnects the power supply chain if necessary.

    At the same time, installing the key in the ignition switch socket is not a connecting link, but only allows you to send a signal to the necessary electrical sensor so that the necessary devices do their job. Structurally, the immobilizer protective device consists of several blocks that are connected into a single mechanism:

    Principle of operation

    The principle of operation of the standard Priora alarm, like any other, with reliable dynamic coding, is quite simple and understandable. The activated signaling system accepts for execution exclusively the commands of the native, trained chip installed in the ignition key of the Lada Priora. This will be followed by a series of logically related actions:

    • the communication coil, having received a reliable encoded signal from the ignition key chip, forwards it to the standard immobilizer (IMMO) of the Lada;
    • he, in turn, checks the received reliable, encoded signal with the code recorded in his memory;
    • if they match, the immobilizer sends a command to the authorized engine start of the Priora ECU;
    • The Lada ECU, having received a signal from the IMMO alarm, unlocks its electrical circuits;
    • If there is an unauthorized attempt to start the Priora engine, the IMMO will not send a confirmation signal to the ECU and the control circuits will not be unlocked. In addition, a siren warning signal with light flashes will sound;
    • in addition, the car key fob, built into the chipped ignition key, controls the central locking of the Lada Priora and its window lifts;
    • By installing shock or volume sensors yourself, the alarm system receives an additional option to increase its reliability.

    Important: be sure to require activation of the standard Priora alarm system when purchasing it. Otherwise, you will have to configure it yourself using a training key with a red insert. In this case, various nuances with its performance are possible.
