As you understand, Kalina is also not without its shortcomings, but it leaves a slightly more subtle aftertaste, which is well worth the additional payment of 20 thousand rubles. And if you take a car with a manual transmission, then the price difference with Lifan will completely disappear.

In general, everything is more or less. With the exception of sound insulation, it seems to be completely absent. At any speed, be it 40 or 140 km/h, you can hear absolutely everything except your own voice. The engine growls, the gearbox shift mechanism clicks. But a pebble flew out from under the wheel into the arch and... I think I heard it plop onto the road.
Conclusion? It is quite possible to consume Chinese cars, seduced by colorful packaging and a pleasant price tag. This might work.

Thus, this car is quite controversial. It has both advantages and disadvantages. Nevertheless, the majority of domestic owners of the LADA X-RAY model are satisfied with this car.

Thus, the predecessors of LADA XRay were covered with paint of the following thickness:

- LADA PRIORA – 65–100 microns;
- LADA GRANTA – 90–100 microns.

Thanks to such extensive improvements, the XRAY Cross drove completely differently. The steering wheel has acquired a super-clear zero, the removal from which requires the application of significant force, while the return action sometimes seems almost excessive. But I like the character of the steering wheel: it makes the driving process delicious. At the same time, Lada holds a straight line perfectly and does not show nervousness in a rut. At some moments, I even caught myself that I liked the handling of this Xray more than that of the Vesta Cross, which I left in the garage while going on a business trip to Kazakhstan. And the pseudo-crossover rolls extremely moderately, even despite the higher landing compared to both Vesta and the regular Xray.
The ride quality improves as the road gets worse. On smooth asphalt, small high-frequency tremors are almost constantly felt, but the crossover rushes along a broken grader with an steadfastness worthy of a classic Niva. The energy intensity is almost prohibitive: on a very conventional road laid in the steppe, the XRAY Cross allows you to maintain a speed of about a hundred according to the speedometer and not let off the gas in front of very serious potholes.
I also tried various modes of the Lada Ride Select system and was overall satisfied. The Sport mode adds liveliness to the car's response to the accelerator, and the engine is in no hurry to slow down when releasing the gas, allowing it to be picked up by the next gear.
I tested the “sand” mode in the steppe, after leaving the main road; however, here it was easier to feel the operation of the electronic differential lock, which turned out to be truly effective: when hanging up, the stabilization system “bites” the wheel free of traction with the ground and still pulls the car from its place.
And the next day it was the turn of the mode for driving in the snow, when the Kazakh skies opened up and dropped a sufficient amount of material for experiments on the ground. If on the sand the electronics allow a certain amount of wheel slip, then the winter mode turns out to be the strictest: it strangles the engine even more diligently than by default and does not allow even the slightest slip. And the system works: on a climb, the “snowflake” on the selector adds confidence when starting from a standstill.
Warranty for more than ten years: dream or reality
Having applied new technologies in the production of a high hatchback, Russian automakers did not lose sight of the galvanizing, painting and welding process. These procedures must be carried out directly at the car production site to ensure high quality. According to management's assumptions, the body of the Lada X-Ray can last up to 12 years without additional treatments. This limit is significantly ahead of all previously offered guarantees.
The basis for the longevity of the body is galvanization. This processing method minimizes metal aging and prevents corrosion. AvtoVAZ relatively recently began using this method of protection on production vehicles. So far, not all parts of the Lada X-Ray are subject to anti-corrosion treatment. Particular attention is paid to the most vulnerable parts of the new crossover. These include: pillars, doors and bottom. This is done without fail. The body is selectively coated, but according to AvtoVAZ management, soon all Lada cars will receive a 100% galvanized body, which will be made in the factory. This is what will significantly extend the life of each machine. Depending on whether the body is galvanized or not, the price of the car is determined.
