The expanded price range could attract new buyers to the 2019 model year. Today, the manufacturer’s price list includes 11 trim levels, plus a couple of option packages, which we’ll talk about in more detail. On the technical side, practically nothing has changed. 1.6 and 1.8 liter petrol engines are available. As a transmission, the front-wheel drive car boasts a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT robotic transmission. Interestingly, with a 106 hp engine. They install a domestic gearbox, with a more powerful 122 horsepower unit, they pair mechanics from Renault. The “fattier” Comfort package will delight the owners of the new car with the following functions:

The price from an official dealer for a new car starts from 809,000 rubles. The package of additional functionality is not provided, but it is possible to install the Optima package from the Classic version.

The interior is very close in comfort to the Renault Sandero Stepway, which is not surprising, since the cars are made on the same platform. The dashboard, although it has an interesting design, but rough, low-quality plastic spoils the whole impression, as do the not very comfortable seats. Rear passengers are the least fortunate, as they have to suffer in cramped conditions. In this regard, the Lada Vesta is much better.

Engine and transmission
As a rule, people buy a car for themselves for more than one year. After driving in eco mode and getting used to driving, you will probably want to drive faster. Therefore, we will choose the engine that provides the best dynamics. According to the passport data, the Xray 1.8 with a manual transmission accelerates to the first hundred in 10.4 seconds. Version 1.6 with mechanics in this discipline is slightly slower - 11.7 s. The torque of the 1.8 is noticeably higher - 170 Nm versus 148 Nm for the younger modification. And fuel consumption in the combined cycle is approximately the same - 7.4 l/100 km for the 1.8 versus 7.0 l/100 km for the 1.6-liter version. Another reason to choose the 1.8 engine. This version can be bought in the top-end Exclusive equipment, while a car with a 1.6 liter engine in this configuration is not sold at all.
We will add a manual gearbox to the 1.8-liter unit. The mechanics are reliable and have sufficient clarity of switching. You need to get used to the robot, and not every driver will agree to do this.

Both engines are available in the basic version. A car with a 1.6 engine costs from 599,900 rubles, but we chose 1.8, so we will focus on it. The most affordable XRAY with this engine was priced at 685,900 rubles. It can also be purchased in Optima trim, but with the Advanced package. With it, the passenger will have a mirror in the sun visor, plus heated seats, which is necessary in our conditions, as well as electric drive and heated mirrors, air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel and 15-inch alloy wheels.
