Lada Granta 2022 in four bodies at once: liftback, hatchback, station wagon and sedan


A large-scale update of the model range carried out by AvtoVAZ has led to the appearance of the 2022 Lada Grant in four body styles: liftback, hatchback, station wagon and sedan. Because of this, the Russian model competes with Renault Sandero and Logan, Ravon R2 and R3. Moreover, Granta recently received a sports modification, Drive Active. The Russian model comes with 3 engines and the same number of gearboxes. The initial versions of the car are not rich in equipment: ABS with EBD, 1 airbag and audio preparation. More expensive versions include air conditioning, central locking, heated front seats, fog lights and other equipment. At the same time, Granta is offered with the same configurations in all its existing bodies.

Options and prices

Standard

Standard configuration is sold from official dealers at a price of 461,900 rubles and is available exclusively with an 87-horsepower engine and manual transmission. As with most Russian cars, you shouldn’t count on premium optics. It is based on halogen headlights and an additional brake light on the rear. For comfortable use, the glass is covered with a heat-protective film. The base already includes a heated rear window. The interior is quite modest - fabric upholstery, headrests only for the first row. The minimum car boasts a central lock and a power socket. There is no second airbag, the only one goes to the driver, but there are child seat mounts and ERA-GLONASS is installed.

In addition, the standard package can offer:

  • ABS, EBD, BAS;
  • cabin filter;
  • luggage compartment curtain;
  • immobilizer;
  • children's castle;
  • undersized spare wheel.

Classic

Classic package expands the possibilities. In the younger modification, the price stops at 495.5 thousand rubles. To the list of available equipment you can add an adjustable steering column and steering wheel, an additional pair of headrests, power windows for the first row and an on-board computer.

Classic Optima

Classic Optima package starts at a price of 521,500 rubles. But an additional 106-horsepower engine is available here, which, together with the “robot,” increases the price tag to 561,500 rubles. The main differences are the appearance of air conditioning in the cabin and a heated side mirror system.

Comfort

Comfort assembly with an 87-horsepower engine is sold from official dealers at a price of 541.5 thousand rubles. Version with 1.6 and 98 hp. will cost the buyer 611,500 rubles. The older engine with a manual transmission increases the price tag to 556,500 rubles, and with a robotic gearbox to 581,500 rubles.

Club

The Lada Granta 2022 Club is sold for a minimum of 558,900 rubles. 98 hp increase the price tag to 628.9 thousand rubles. 106 hp and “mechanics” are indicated in the price list at 573,900 rubles. The trim gets 15-inch alloy wheels, but loses heated body-color mirrors. Instead, the manufacturer offers heated windshield and rear parking sensors.

Luxe

Luxe package really increases functionality. The minimum version is sold at a price of 579,800 rubles. For 98 forces you will have to pay 70,000 more. A car with a 106-horsepower version of the engine is available for sale at a price of 594,800 rubles. The version with a top-end engine and a “robot” reaches 619,800 rubles. The list of available equipment includes:

  • fog lights on the front bumper;
  • electrical power supply of painted mirrors;
  • height adjustment of the driver's seat;
  • 5 headrests;
  • remote control of central locking;
  • full package of electric windows;

Luxe Prestige

The flagship version of Luxe Prestige is sold at a price of 613,800 rubles for 106 hp. with manual transmission and 638,800 rubles with a robotic gearbox. The list of additional equipment is supplemented by rain and light sensors and parking sensors on the rear.

Results

Our analysis revealed Grant as the winner of the single combat. This car, thanks to the novelty of the exterior design and a larger range of versions in terms of equipment, is positioned more preferably for purchase.

What to choose LADA Granta or LADA Priora is decided by the specific future owner.

Domestic cars attract their new buyers primarily due to their low cost and inexpensive maintenance. It so happens that AvtoVAZ cars are famous for their reputation as proven working machines that will faithfully serve the benefit of families and small businesses. The products of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant are also in demand in the service of government agencies.

There are two models in approximately the same niche among Lada cars: Priora and the relatively recent Granta model. Not every fan of these models will be able to answer the question of which is better: Grant or Priora. Therefore, in order to place emphasis on each car and identify certain positive advantages of both models, it is necessary to study them in detail.

Appearance

As you can see in the photo, most of the car's design remained untouched. However, the new body also boasts some improvements, thanks to which the car will become both more attractive and more functional. The most changes can be found on the front of the car. As before, it is located at a low height and has medium dimensions. There is also a tilt, which allows any driver to feel comfortable behind the wheel and perfectly assess the situation on the road. The increase in the amount of relief immediately catches the eye. Already on the hood you can find several smooth transitions in height, which are located on the side parts of the lid. As before, the main part of the bumper is decorated with an X-shaped air intake, inside of which all the parts are made of plastic and painted black. Only in the center the perimeter of this structure is distinguished by chrome trim, as well as the Lada brand badge. On the sides, the air intake is decorated with massive headlights, which take on an even more aggressive shape and are located at a large angle. Unfortunately, they will still have only halogen filling in any configuration. There is now a little more relief here, thanks to which the bumper has a brighter appearance.

The body kit has also changed a bit. It has been replenished with some relief, which is distributed over its entire area, and also includes a long air intake made in the form of a strip. In the center there is a grille that improves the cooling of the engine compartment, and on the sides you can see small round fog lights. There is also a much larger variety of sensors for electronic assistants.

The car's profile has undergone virtually no major changes. Still here you can find a bunch of wavy relief, concentrated mainly on the doors. The main detail here is a wide strip of windows, which will now be framed by a slightly wider line, painted in gloss black. The dividing posts are also painted in the same color, and they have also become somewhat wider. The rear view mirrors have slightly increased in size and also acquired a more triangular shape. Now in the database they will be able to boast of the presence of turn signals, as well as a handle painted black. Further, the body is decorated with a slightly protruding strip located approximately in the center of the doors, which is painted either in the color of the car or finished with unpainted plastic, as well as slightly inflated wheel arches.

A little more transformation can be found by looking at the rear of the car. It is located slightly higher than before the update, and has also become somewhat shorter. The trunk lid was replenished with a small protrusion located at the very end, and also received an abundance of relief. Next you can see large chrome plated nameplates, bright marker signals placed on the sides of the door, and stylish height transitions. A lot of space is allocated here for body kit, but it cannot boast of an abundance of decor. Here you can only find a black diffuser and sensors.

Exterior comparison

Traditionally, we start with the appearance. We look at the galaxy of options that are offered by the manufacturer’s design workshop. The Priora immediately evokes associations with a classic sedan, which slightly reveals the similarity of its lines with its predecessor. The body shape is more suited to the definition of “traditional” rather than “modern”.

Even despite the restyling performed in 2014, the body cannot be called revolutionary changed. The designers “made the Priora happy” with new headlights, bumpers and rear dimensions. The exterior has improved, but not significantly, although reviews from most owners of the new product are positive.

Much more significant changes have already been noticed in the interior. Just think about the use of materials from the “soft-look” line alone, thanks to which the interior acquired a richer look. But the previous problems did not go away, including the small size of the driver's seat cushion. The difference between the Granta is the larger amount of space inside the cabin. Only the plastic of the dashboard, which is not of the best quality, can spoil the picture.

The exterior should be noted separately. It is quite modern and not without its own style. The car body will delight you with its sweeping lines and graceful contours. From a distance, the model is indistinguishable from an expensive foreign car.

In this discipline, Grants had more advantages, but this is not a fact that this particular model is better.

Salon

The update also had a slight impact on the interior of the car. Now the new Lada Granta 2022 model year will be made of higher quality fabrics and plastic, which can be both soft and hard. In the basic configuration you can now find more functionality, however, there will still not be full-fledged multimedia here. The chairs have been improved somewhat, making it even more comfortable to sit on.

The dashboard here does not have the most pleasant appearance. Deflectors, audio preparation, various analog buttons, washers and switches are scattered on it in a chaotic manner. The situation is somewhat better in the advanced configuration, where there is a touch monitor that replaces most of all these parts. The tunnel here is no different in style, which can only boast of the presence of cup holders, and not very large ones, a gear shift knob, a parking brake and other organizers. The armrest is installed here only at an additional cost.

The car has good seats, but they are still not suitable for long trips. They are always finished with fabrics and have a harsh filling. The only functionality here is a heated front row, mechanical drives for adjusting it, imitation of lateral support and head restraints. Amenities on the second row include a folding armrest and headrests.

Lada Granta - history

The VAZ 219010 car was designed and manufactured at the Volzhsky Automobile Plant.
The main idea was to create a budget car for Russian citizens. It was decided that the base would be the Lada Kalina and those spare parts that were purchased earlier and are available in the warehouse. For this reason, the Lada Granta was created in just two years, and the budget spent on it was small. All this affected the final price. The car was presented on May 11, 2011 in Tolyatti. Then on May 16, 2011, production began in test mode, which is considered the “birthday” of the LADA Grant, and mass production began in October.

Within two months, more than 20,000 people wanted to buy a car. LADA Granta replaced the “classics”: LADA Samara and LADA Kalina. The car's name was chosen based on the "People's name for the people's car" competition.

If you believe the statistics, this is the best-selling car in Russia for the entire period of 2013-2015 and 2022.

Specifications

For the Lada Granta 2022, the well-known 1.6-liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 87, 98 and 106 “horses” will be prepared. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. The drive, as before, will be front-wheel drive. A little later, buyers will be able to purchase a modernized 114-horsepower sports version of the car, as well as a car with a bi-fuel engine, which, in addition to gasoline, can use methane.

Such characteristics will allow the car to move well around the city and on the highway, but it is not worth driving off the road. But fuel consumption will please every motorist.

What about sports modifications?

Persistently carrying out a comparative analysis of two “experimental” models, one cannot but ignore their sporting variations. If the Priora is a continuation of the classical school, then the sports model Grant is a contender for the status of a car with an individual appearance.

This is echoed by the following aspects:

  • new suspension design;
  • adjustable camber;
  • modified transmission;
  • aggressive and uncompromising body kit.

Based on many tests, it can be argued that the sports modification of the Grant is much faster than its rival, which cannot be said about the “civilian” versions.
