The only dimension that is the same for the wheels of all versions of the Granta FL is their drilling, while the tires and rims of these cars can have different sizes, while the wheels themselves are interchangeable, regardless of the versions and bodies of the face-listed Ladas.
As for drilling, which experienced garage specialists also call bolting, it has the following parameters:
- 98 mm diameter circle for disc mounting holes;
- 58.6 mm hub diameter;
- the holes themselves in the amount of 4 pieces;
- with mating plane overhang ranges (ET) starting from 33 and ending with 37 mm.
Standard wheel sizes for Lada Granta
On the factory conveyor, the machines are equipped with an almost identical set of wheels in two versions of the disks, namely stamped or products made by casting and in three versions of their standard sizes. As, indeed, they are equipped with five tire sizes, see the table below:
It is quite expected that FL Grants in basic assemblies, such as Comfort Linght, as well as Comfort, are equipped with stamping discs of 14 dimensions. At the same time, the first assembly receives 175/65R14 tires, while the second is equipped with wider, namely 185/60R14 slopes.
Regarding tire pressure, the optimums here are quite identical, with the exception, perhaps, of the top tires with a maximum width of 195/50R15, which, optionally or for additional money, all slopes or only one wheel have a pressure sensor.
A little about wheels
Tires - Today, these are one of the most high-tech products on which safe and comfortable movement by car directly depends. There are a large number of tires on the market today from many different manufacturers. They consist of a frame, a protector and a breaker layer between them. And also the toughest part of the tire - the bead, which is designed for reliable fixation and sealing on the rim.
Disks - In the modern world, a wheel includes two parts: the rim - which is a surface closed in a ring with sides on which the tire is fixed, and the disk - which is a support for the rim with holes for fixing the entire wheel to the hub, most often using bolts or hairpins. Currently, there are the following types of discs: stamped, cast, forged, composite and combined.

Non-standard wheels for restyling Grants FL
Which, in fact, forces our youth and therefore not rich, but ambitious audience of newly minted grant makers, some time after purchasing a car, to engage in wheel restyling, buying and equipping their cars with stylish cast wheels of 15th, 16th and even 17th dimensions:
However, some of our diverse garage community believe that the FL Grants look attractive, with wheel restyling based on 13-inch rims.
By the way, regarding the parameters of tires with the presence of the R symbol, you should keep in mind that, for example, R14 in the marking of the ramp means that this product has a radial cord, and 14 is by no means the radius, but the diameter of the wheel rim, shown in inches.
As for the alloy wheels on the face-listed Granta, they are installed from the factory only on the top ones, namely, both luxury and motocross assemblies are equipped with casting. All these discs come exclusively in 15-inch versions, having an attractive appearance and a light gray tone.
This style, by the way, goes well with any color schemes of certain bodies, from face-listed Grant sedans and hatchbacks to station wagons and liftbacks. This is especially noted by many grant experts and auto design experts, arguing that the updated Granta looks best in 15-inch shoes with alloy wheels.
Factory tire and wheel sizes
In most cases, the Lada Granta is equipped from the factory with “stamps” and light alloy wheels with a radius of 13 and 14 inches, but not so long ago they also began to be equipped with 15-inch wheels.
Lada Granta in the “Standard” and “Norma” configurations were equipped with 13 wheels. But you need to look at the size of the front brake disc, it can be 14th wheel radius
These durable steel wheels consist of a rim onto which the tire is directly attached. This entire structure, or rather its elements, are connected to each other using strong welding. And for convenience during operation, each disc contains information about the width of the rim profile, the moment of disc departure and other indicators.
After a certain point in time, the wheel rims will need to be checked for lateral and radial runout. Such maintenance should certainly be carried out at tire service stations or technical service stations. service.
Wheel rim bolt pattern on Lada Granta
The manufacturer advises installing wheels on the Lada Granta with a diameter (A) of 13 to 15 inches, with a profile width (B) of 5-6 J, with an offset (ET) of 33 to 38 millimeters, with the usual AvtoVAZ bolt pattern - PSD 4*98 ,DIA 58.5 .
Danger of using non-standard wheels
This threat lies in the fact that the load on the Granta FL was calculated using 15-inch wheels, with optimal influence on the body suspension system, which affects the handling, and the transmission of the Granta FL. What determines the dynamic and economic characteristics of equipment. And all this together directly affects the safety of the machine.
In short, the use of non-standard 16- and 17-inch wheels for restyling face-listed Grants is dangerous for the elements of chassis suspension to the bodies, and such a visual improvement also threatens to reduce vehicle handling. Especially in the presence of severe weather and road conditions with a high probability of emergency situations.
Regarding the 16-, and even more so 17-inch wheel restyling of Grants FL, such an improvement by the same AvtoVAZ, let’s say, is not welcomed because these standard sizes are not mentioned in the Operating Manual. This means that such restyling leads to a direct violation of traffic rules, and this in turn leads to penalties from the vigilant sovereign traffic police.
However, as practice shows, this government service responsible for road safety is not so vigilant, because it turns a blind eye to the almost complete pandemic of wheel restyling of passenger vehicles.
Design features and markings of Grants disks
The rim is the main part of the wheel that serves to secure the car tire and transmit torque by securing the disc to the hubs. Don’t be confused - the Lada Granta wheel bearing has nothing to do with discs. Structurally, the product consists of two parts:
- rim - comes in different sizes and shapes, serves to fix the rubber;
- flange - with its help it is attached to the hub with bolted connections.
The appropriate tire is selected according to the diameter and width of the wheel. The departure is marked as ET. Conventionally, this is the distance between the center and the mounting surface. The larger it is, the more the wheel extends outward from the wheel arch. The center hole size is marked as DIA, and the diameter of the middle of each mounting hole is marked as PCD. Based on this data, nuts, bolts, and washers are selected.
As standard, the rim width on the Lada Grant is from 5.5 to 6 inches. The mounting flange has 4 holes for fixing bolts. The distance from one to the other is 98 mm. The disc can be of size R13, R14, R15 - diameter from 13 to 15 inches. The diameter of the central hole is 58.6 mm, and the overhang size is no more than 38 mm. Based on this data, you can indicate the marking of the standard wheel for the Lada Granta: 5.5x14 4/98 ET35 D58.6.
Grant wheel caps as a low-cost but effective way of wheel tuning
The presence of cast or light alloy (whatever you like to call them), as well as forged wheels on Grants is perceived by the ambitious audience of our garage grant community as a sign of the financial well-being of the owner of such a car.
However, the use of caps on stamped-welded wheels can not only neutralize the value of both self-affirmation and self-expression of owners of top-end assemblies, but also significantly save on wheel restyling, without reducing the safety of using the car.
One of the significant disadvantages of stamped discs is the fact that they have low cooling capacity for the brake mechanism due to the fact that they almost completely cover it without providing proper airflow. While caps, with the appropriate aerodynamic configuration of the slots, can eliminate these disadvantages of steel disks.
Standard and alternative disks
In the basic configuration, the Lada Granta is equipped with stamped rims, and every car owner thinks about replacing them with alternative ones. The appearance of the car, road stability, handling, degree of tire wear, and fuel consumption depend on these elements. When installing certain wheels, you need to understand which parameters are more important. This is clearly shown in the table:
Parameter | Increasing width | Diameter increase | Increasing tire width |
Tire wear level | Without changes | Increasing
Stability on the road | Increasing
Car appearance | Better | ||
Controllability | Better
Traction characteristics | Without changes | Elevated on hard road surfaces
Fuel consumption | Increases | Without changes | Increases |
Noisy while driving | Without changes | Increasing
Off-road ride quality (poor road surface) | Without changes | Decreasing | Increasing |
Preventing hydroplaning | Without changes | Increasing |
The choice is influenced by the material from which the product is made. Metal stamped disks are resistant to damage and reliable, but their main drawback is their heavy weight.
R14 “stamps” are installed on the Grant from the factory.
Wheels made of light alloy materials are much more popular. Their main advantage is the variety of designs, but the cost is higher than stamped ones. According to the manufacturing method, they are distinguished:
- forged;
- cast;
- prefabricated
Of these, cast ones are the highest quality, popular and reliable.
