The rear sofa has undergone virtually no changes. To improve comfort, a folding armrest was made in the middle.

Racing

If you have a junkyard nearby where old German cars constantly appear, then you are very lucky. Surely you can find seats from Mercedes W210
. They are not very popular among drivers of modern foreign cars, but they are ideal for the VAZ-2107. Moreover, at showdowns they usually don’t ask for much for them. At the same time, buying such seats secondhand can cost a significant amount.
If you live in Siberia or the Far East, then you better look for Toyota Corolla seats. Usually in the eastern regions there are no problems with searching, which cannot be said about the European part of Russia. In any case, if you can find such seats, purchase them. Not only do they fit perfectly, but they also look really good in the salon.
The remaining options listed in the previous part of the article make sense to use only if there are no more suitable options. As a rule, their installation requires additional modification of the fasteners.

REMOVAL OF FRONT SEATS VAZ 2107
The driver and passenger seats are removed due to their breakdown, in order to later be repaired or due to their replacement.
There is practically no difficulty in removing the seats. You need to have a little time and the necessary tools:
- 8 mm head.
- Extension.
- Ratchet with handle.
- 13mm wrench.
To dismantle the seat, you must:
- Move the chair forward as far as possible until it stops.
- At the back of the chair, the slide is bolted to the bottom with two bolts. They need to be unscrewed.
- Next, move the chair back until it stops moving.
- From the bottom left, in front of the seat, unscrew the left side of the slide with an 8 mm socket, like the bolts at the back. On the right, unscrew the right side of the slide with a 13 mm wrench (see photo).
- All. Dismantling is complete, remove the seat from the passenger compartment.
If there is a need to remove the second chair, the operation is performed in the same order.
INSTALLING A NEW SEAT
To install, you need to have new or repaired seats, standard or from a foreign model.
First of all, after removing the old seats, it is necessary to clean the dirt from the places on the bottom where they stood. If there is rust, clean it and coat it with an anti-corrosion compound.
Before installing non-standard seats, you should make sure that the fasteners match where they are based.
The above describes how to dismantle the chairs. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, but first the slides must be lubricated with a thick special lubricant.
Interior lighting
There is no lighting as such in the interior of the VAZ 2105. The only light source is the lampshades on the door pillars. However, they only signal that the doors are opening and nothing more. To improve the situation, you need to purchase a lamp from a modern car, for example, from Lanos.

FAULTS AND REPAIRS OF FRONT SEATS
If you treat your car correctly and with care, the seats will last a relatively long time. And yet these are loaded nodes that sooner or later fail. Front seats break more often than rear seats. Main failures: wear of the casing or failure of the adjustment mechanism to perform its functions.
All this can be repaired independently in makeshift conditions.
The back does not lock and does not recline
The backrest does not recline or is not fixed; it can move back and forth without any effort. This is one of the frequent breakdowns in the seat adjustment mechanism of the VAZ 2107. It occurs due to the weakness of the unit that fixes the movements of the backrest lever. Driving a vehicle while sitting in such a seat is inconvenient and unsafe.
Repairing it yourself is not difficult. Below is described and shown how to do it step by step:
- The auto parts market sells a replacement product for the seat back fixation unit, called a “comb”. It is suitable for all classic Zhiguli models. When purchasing a “comb,” you should keep in mind that the parts for the right and left seats are different from each other.
- After dismantling and pulling the seat out of the car, it must be turned over, since the entire mechanism is located below.
- Disassembly of the mechanism should begin by removing the adjusting pin. To unscrew it, you need to remove the lock washer.
- Having freed the comb, carefully cut it off and clean this place on the seat frame with a grinder.
- We install the new comb in place and weld it to the frame. To burn the soft parts of the chair, you need to cover them with a wet cloth and put a thin sheet of galvanized iron or any other on top.
- Next, you need to check the correct operation of the fixation unit by assembling it. After making sure that the latch is working properly, finally weld the comb to the chair frame.
- After completion, we put the seat in place in the car interior.
Installing a reinforced seat clamp comb
The photograph clearly shows that the comb is made of weak metal and is not very durable; it will not last long. Craftsmen have introduced a new method of repairing the fastener. This is a reinforced comb installation. It is not sold in stores, so it is better to order it from a familiar turner. Can also be found at salvage sites for old cars.
Installation of this comb is much easier; there is no need to cut anything.
We straighten the old comb and boil it if there are cracks in the metal parts of the frame. We install the reinforced comb in place, align it with the adjusting pin and weld it. To avoid burning the soft parts of the seat, you need to cover them.
Repair of front seat slides
The slides are designed to move the chairs back and forth and lock them in the required position. The main reason for the failure of the slide is contamination of the guides, but there is also a breakdown of the metal components of the mechanism structure.
This mechanism consists of the following parts:
- Guides.
- Crawlers.
- Roller.
- Rubber roller ring.
- Constraint detail.
- Retainer latch.
- Locking the longitudinal movement of the slide.
- Seat back control lever.
- Backrest tilt adjustment rod.
- Spring.
- Locking pin.
- Backrest tilt mechanism handle.
- Handle for fixing the movement of the sled.
- Backrest tilt lock comb.
To make repairs or clean the slides, they must be detached from the seat frame. This is done in the following order:
- Remove the spring.
- Release the rod securing pin.
- Unscrew the slide from the seat body.
After this, clean and rinse the mechanism from old grease and dirt. Carefully inspect, if there are broken or damaged elements of the mechanism, they need to be replaced with new ones. After these manipulations, assemble the slide and put it in place, having previously lubricated it with a special lubricant.
Reupholstery of the front seats of VAZ 2107
A car serves a person for a long time and during this time the upholstery of the seats becomes dirty, “greasy”, or even torn. The driver and front passenger seats are most often affected by this. It’s too late to put on the covers; this should have been done earlier. In this case it is better to tighten it. There are no difficulties, the procedure is below:
- Remove the seats.
- Rip the upholstery at the seams.
- Carefully, so as not to spoil the foam, if it is intact, remove the old material.
- Using the old upholstery, using it as a stencil, we cut out new parts from suitable fabric.
- Inspect the chair. If there is damaged foam and broken springs, replace them.
- Collect patterns for new upholstery and secure with thread, glue and heat sealing.

Repairing a broken seat back
The backrest mount breaks due to a worn-out bracket, due to which the device moves, fixes and changes position. The bracket is the most vulnerable spot of the front seat of the VAZ 2107.
To carry out repairs, you will need a working comb.

- remove and turn the seat over. At the bottom of the pillow you will see an adjustment mechanism;
- remove the retaining ring;
- unscrew the adjusting pin;
- prepare the place for welding by cleaning it with a grinder;
- screw the pin into place;
- weld the comb.
Before welding, remove the sheathing or place a galvanized sheet on it.
REAR SEATS
The rear seats of the Zhiguli are the same as a sofa. On the VAZ 2107, a retractable armrest is made in the back of the sofa to improve the comfort of rear passengers. The upper and lower parts of the sofa are attached separately to the car body using clamps.
Rear seat removal and repair
It is better to remove the rear seats together. One on one side of the car, the other on the other side. The order of execution is as follows:
- Open both rear doors, take the cushion on both sides and with a sharp upward movement pull it off the latches.
- Move the pillow forward and take it out of the cabin through any of the doors.
- At the bottom of the seat, on both sides, bend the plates using pliers and pull the lower part of the backrest forward.
- Raise the backrest up until the hooks come out of the partition.
- Pull the seat back out into the right or left door.
