ATTENTION. This information is for informational purposes only. There may be differences between the installed lamps in your car and in the table. To more accurately determine the lamp base, we recommend that you check in more detail in the manual for your car, or look at the lamp markings by directly pulling it out of the headlight. Some types of headlights have a marking (or sticker) on the housing of the headlight itself.
Headlight bulbs No. 164
Hello everyone)
In this post I will tell you how I chose the low beam headlight bulbs for myself.
One of the bulbs in the low beam headlights recently burned out. Philips X-treme Vision served faithfully for 2 years. I decided not to take the same ones, but to experiment with something new. Now I drive quite a lot on the highway at night and bad weather can strike at any moment. It was decided to change 2 light bulbs at once, and leave one surviving one as a reserve.
I also want to address drivers who drive on the highway at night with a burnt out light bulb. The dimensions of the car become unclear, or maybe it’s even a motorcycle. Very confusing. So don’t skimp and replace the burnt out light bulb immediately.
I saw Valeo light bulbs in the store; the price was inexpensive and I decided to buy them temporarily.
Having traveled with them at night, I realized that the brightness is not so saturated and the light beam is not so long. After searching the Internet, I found a decent option OSRAM FOG BREAKER (H1, 62150FBR-DUOBOX). Of course their price is decent. These are these beauties.
Here I will give the technical characteristics of these light bulbs.
These lamps have the yellowest light of any halogen lamp, which provides maximum visibility in difficult weather conditions.
OSRAM FOG BREAKER lamps are the ideal choice for drivers who need maximum visibility, which means maximum safety when driving in fog, smog and other bad weather conditions.
Thanks to the maximum yellow filter, the light of these lamps is much worse reflected and scattered by precipitation compared to standard ones. This allows for the best possible visibility, and a 60% increase in illumination in the 75-100 m area in front of the car takes your safety to a new level. Key benefits: Maximum visibility in bad weather conditions Yellow light makes your vehicle stand out on the road Color temperature up to 2500K 60% more light compared to a standard lamp 20m longer light cone Key

Let's summarize:
after testing these bulbs at night, I realized that I just needed these 20 additional meters along the light cone. And with yellow light, all the bumps on the road are very clearly visible. Now I also want to install such lamps in PTF.
I think the effect will be amazing. Bye everyone. Don't forget to like and subscribe to my typewriter)

Types of low beam bulbs on the VAZ 2110 and VAZ 2112
The vast majority of motorists are faced with the need to replace lamps on a VAZ 2110. Factory components sooner or later wear out or do not initially meet the driver’s requirements. This applies in particular to low beam bulbs, which may not suit the needs of motorists for several reasons. Such as:
- too dim road lighting;
- rapid wear, breakdown;
- inappropriate shade of color (for example, headlights with a white and bluish glow are well suited for driving during adverse weather conditions).
Since the driver needs to drive with low beam both at night and during the day, the bulbs in the system become unusable relatively quickly.
If the low beam lamps on a car break down, according to the law, it is required to urgently replace it - for driving in the dark without the lamps on, you will face a fine. In addition, it is unsafe for you and other road users.
In order to choose which types of low beam lamps are suitable for installation on a VAZ 2110, you need to understand how the electrical circuit of your “ten” functions. The following components are connected to it:
- light switch, located in your car on the panel at the front of the car;
- headlight mode switch, which you can find on the steering column;
- relay for switching the modes of lamps located between the high and low beam bulbs;
- fuses (4 pieces), which are located on the installation block and ensure the operation of the light electrical circuit;
- signal lighting that notifies the motorist that the high beam is operating.
For the VAZ 2110, as well as models 2111 or 21124, it is important to choose lamps that will illuminate the road and prevent eye fatigue when driving in the dark.
Types of lighting
To ensure reliable and long-lasting headlight performance, car enthusiasts can choose from LED, xenon, halogen or conventional incandescent low beam bulbs
The following types of lamps are popular among owners of the VAZ 2110, as well as 2111 models:
- Philips Vision.
Capable of providing a third more light than halogen models. They are also significantly superior in quality and durability to the factory lighting of many car models. Often these are the lamps that are installed in machine production, which is an indicator of the high quality of the model. In terms of price-quality ratio, they are considered one of the best options for VAZ;
How to change light bulbs
Replacing the bulbs in both lanterns is easy and requires no tools.
Rear center
Open the trunk door and find the rear part of the lamp on it. The board with lamps is secured in it using two plastic clips and at the same time serves as the back cover of the lamp. Squeeze the clamps and remove the board along with the lamps. The power supply does not need to be disconnected.
Removing the panel with light bulbs
Lightly press down the burnt-out light bulb and, turning it counterclockwise, remove it from the socket. In place of the burnt one, install a new one, press and turn clockwise. We snap the board into place.
Back corner
There's not much more fuss here. We open the trunk door and opposite the lamp we find a valve in the upholstery, closed with Velcro. We open it and see the back of the light device.
The corner light is hidden behind a flap in the upholstery
Its back part is fixed with the same plastic latches. We squeeze them and take out the board along with the light bulbs.
Removing the panel with light bulbs
The turn signal lamp is located separately, the parking light and fog light lamps are almost next to each other. We take out the burnt one (press and turn), install a new one (press and turn in the opposite direction).
Replacing light bulbs in the corner rear light fixture of a VAZ 2112
We snap the panel into place and close it with the valve.
Main conclusions
On a VAZ 2110 car, a halogen lamp with an H1 base of 12 V and 55 W is installed as standard in the low beam headlights. To improve illumination and service life, it is also permissible to install more modern analogs of the H7 type. The most popular halogen models are:

No. 122. Theory about lamps
The first theoretical entry in my blog.
But some people need to read it, because they install h1 LED bulbs in the low beam for 100 rubles and I think that they will shine better than halogen. The essence
You can’t just buy any light bulbs and install them in the hope that they will shine better. Because there is such a thing called “luminous flux”, measured in Lumens (lm). Essentially, just the brightness of the lamp. How much light does it give? Before choosing LED bulbs, I specifically looked for the number of lumens in standard incandescent bulbs that are used in my car, so that later I could look for LED bulbs based on this characteristic.
In the front and rear dimensions: 35 lm In the tidy, tidy mask buttons, SAUO block: 5 lm In the stops, reverse, turn signals and rear PTF: 400 lm In the backlight of the license plate, badrack, trunk, rear license plate and passenger lamp: 45 lm V turn signal (on the wing) and in the navigation lamp: 35 lm
I looked at the lamps on the VAZ 2110-12, but this list is general for most AvtoVAZ cars.
Now the list about the head light:
H1 55w — 1550 lm H3 55w — 1450 lm H4 60w — 1650 lm far, 1000 lm near H7 55w — 1500 lm H8 35w — 800 lm H9 65w — 2100 lm H11 55w — 1350 lm HB2 60w — 15 00 lm far, 910 lm near HB3 60w — 1860 lm HB4 51w — 1095 lm
List of standard lamps, not overheated, such as +30, +90 and others.
It follows that the same people who install H1 LED lamps for 100 rubles expect that these lamps will produce 1550 lm, or even more (I’m looking at the example of my headlight unit - I have H1 in the entire headlight)
, but in fact it turns out to be the same number of lumens as the dimensions. Therefore, you should not buy LED bulbs, such as “corn” ones, for headlights. And in general, in stores where nothing is known about these light bulbs except the price and country of manufacture.
In other places, I support the transition to LEDs, because the current they consume is several times less and it is lighter. I wanted to... but I thought that “the game isn’t worth the candle” - it’s an expensive pleasure. I calculated how much it would cost me to get the LED lights - about 12-13k (the lamps are sold individually: 2 reverse, 2 stop, 2 automatic, 4 turn signals - 900 rubles per piece; these lamps, it seems, come in pairs: 2 license plate lights, 1 in each glove compartment, trunk and passenger lights - 250 rubles each; lamps in pairs: storm lamp, rear lights - in total 4 pieces at 150 rubles per pair; front lights and turn signal repeater - 200 rubles per pair; prices from memory, because there are records about this I deleted it a long time ago when I changed my mind about buying)
.
Although Dled has a discount for wholesale (starting from 10k) + 5% club card, this would not save the situation much. Now I have LED lamps only in the front dimensions (it was 35 lm - now 240 lm)
, interior lamps
(was 45/35 - now
144/4 - I bought the lamp in the storm lamp before studying this topic and bought a weak one), tidy and in SAUO block (from 5 lm to 5(10)/70)
. Ali-express didn't even consider it. I don't like this resource. Whether it is still worth installing LED lamps is up to everyone to decide for themselves. I personally changed my mind about making such a big change. I will only change everything in the cabin and in the rear dimensions.
But it’s not enough to choose a light bulb—you also need to know its base. Here's the list:
Low - H1 Far - H1 Front fogs - H3 (H1) Rear fogs - P21W - 1156 Reverse - P21W - 1156 Stops - P21W - 1156 Turn signals - P21W - 1156 Turn signal - T10/W5W Front dimensions - T10/W5W Rear dimensions - Т4W Navigator's lamp - Т4W Passenger's lamp - C5W 39 mm License plate illumination - C5W 39 mm In the trunk illumination - C5W 39 mm In the glove compartment illumination - C5W 39 mm In the tidy - t5 In the SAUO block - t5 In the mask and torpedo buttons - t5
Again, I looked at the example of a VAZ 2110-12 car. The difference is mainly only in the bases of the headlights.
Let’s return a little to lumens: There aren’t really any personal examples. I was only able to do one:
There were 5 lm lamps in the tidy, and now... except for two 10 lm lamps, but the difference between 5 and 10 lm is not noticeable.
Conclusion
Before writing the article, there was a certain thought of genius that the entry would have to be informative and necessary, but somehow I don’t know what it would turn out to be like in reality))) Essentially, it turns out that I just said my opinion, gave some kind of recommendation and three list with the number of lumens in stock lamps and lamp sockets. I’ll say it again - before installing an LED lamp, find out its characteristics, so that later you won’t be upset that it doesn’t shine.

H7 lamp rating
Now let's look at popular lamps with a h7 socket. The rating presented below is based on the luminous flux power produced by a particular lamp. The data was obtained using a lux meter, which is built into the headlight adjustment device. So the rating is:
- 15th place. MTF PLATINUM. Emits 20.8 klx (kilolux).
- 14th place. PHILIPS CRYSTAL VISION. Same as 22.7 klx.
- 13th place. Three different lamps are located at this position, since they show approximately the same results. In particular: PHILIPS Long Life ECO vision - 24.6 klx, OSRAM ULTRA LIFE - 24.5 klx, OSRAM ALLSEASON - 24.5 klx.
- 12th place. OSRAM ORIGINAL - 25.3 klx.
- 11th place.
PHILIPS Blue Vision Ultra - 26.1 klx. First place in the ranking - 10th place. NARVA LONG LIFE - 26.4 klx.
- 9th place. PHILIPS +30% — 27 klx.
- 8th place. NARVA CONTRAST + — 27.5 klx.
- 7th place. NARVA RANGE POWER 50+ - 28.1 klx.
- 6th place. PHILIPS +60% - 28.4 klx.
- 5th place. GE - 28.6 klx.
- 4th place. PHILIPS +130% - 29.1 klx.
- 3rd place. PHILIPS +80% - 30.2 klx.
- 2nd place. GE MEGALIGHT PLUS +50% - 30.6 klx.
- 1 place. OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER Unlimited +110% - 32.1 klx.
Naturally, today there are many other light bulbs on the market, especially since this also depends on logistics. Therefore, in different regions of the country you may not find certain types of lamps.
What kind of bulbs should I put in my headlights?
Advantages of gas-diesel LPG
When buying a car, the question arises about what headlights and bulbs to install in the future
This is quite important to know, because weather conditions are varied and, accordingly, the better the driver can see the road, the less the risk of an accident. To do this, initially, from the consultant - the seller of your car, it is worth finding out information about what headlights the car currently has and their advantages over others
Since the representative of this or that company will not tell you the shortcomings, or will not fully disclose them to you, you will have to make the choice yourself. Next, we will present all the information about which bulbs to put in the headlights and describe their types.
Types of headlights
- Low beam. There are no disadvantages here; they are appropriate in any weather and any situation. Usually they combine headlights not only with low beam, but also with high beam, but at the same time the high beam will be weak.
- Anti-fog. The choice is not large, since such headlights are installed exactly for a specific car. Therefore, in order to replace headlights, you just need to know the model and make of your car.
- Additional. Their advantage is that they are universal for all cars. But any additional lights are called fog lights. Therefore, you will have to make a choice between what to combine with what. In any case, some of the components of the headlight will be weaker in illumination.
Which light bulbs to choose
The most important question is which bulbs to put in the headlights. After all, the power of road lighting depends on them. Today there are three types of light bulbs, namely:
- Halogen lamps
- Gas-filled lamps
- Xenon lamps
The first two types have their own varieties: standard, all-weather, high power, pseudo xenon and high light output. As for the third type we presented, they are usually installed in optical headlights, since by inserting such lamps into reflector headlights, various luminous flux problems arise. But at the same time, manufacturers still install xenon lamps in some brands of car models, in ordinary reflector headlights, eliminating all the shortcomings, and accordingly their price is quite high. In addition, this type of lamp heats up significantly less than others and has the highest quality and brightest lighting due to halogen. They also allow you to choose headlights of a more complex design. In any case, it is better for you to find out in advance what kind of light bulbs are in the headlights of the car you are purchasing.
Before choosing lamps for the headlights of your car, you should pay attention to some details:
- Assess the weather conditions and road conditions in your country.
- Evaluate your driving at night.
- Assess the size of your existing headlights and compare them to different wattage bulbs.
- Assess your financial capabilities. And remember, it is better to purchase expensive lamps for headlights and be confident in their quality and serviceability.
In any case, only you know which lamps are best to install in the headlights, taking into account all the above subtleties of choice, which should primarily influence your decision. But you can also install the same lamps that were originally on the car, if you are completely satisfied with them, which happens quite often. After all, manufacturers of various car brands strive to do everything for their customers at the highest level. Usually these are 50-60 W halogen lamps, but a car dealership consultant will provide more detailed information about their purchase and replacement. Another important point is that the yellow light of the bulb illuminates roads better in fog, but white light is much more effective when traveling at night. When buying a car, do not hesitate to check the serviceability of the headlights, which is what customers most often forget, but your life depends on it, which may be at risk on the road in unpleasant weather conditions.
