In the robotic version, controlling the car is very easy, almost like a toy. The steering wheel turns easily (evil tongues will say that the steering wheel is empty), the brake and gas pedals are easily pressed, and the gear selector shifts easily.
The DRLs are turned on automatically, so you will no longer be a dark spot on the road. In the “Auto” light mode, the headlights also turn on automatically, depending on the ambient light, which is very useful. It just seems like they don’t always turn off: after I drove under the bridge, my low beam turned on, but then it didn’t turn off until the end of the trip.

Everyone writes in very little space in the back row. Yes, it’s not enough, but at the same time there’s a lot of it in front! My height is 183 cm, I sat comfortably in the front, there is not much space in the back, but I can sit quite decently.
I easily adjusted the seat to suit myself, my back did not get tired after 1,000 km - I got there without any problems. The pedal assembly is a plus for me, since many people write in the reviews that it is narrow, but I have a foot size of 45, and I separate the pedals quite freely.

I frankly don’t like the view - the sloping glass and wide pillar obscure the view when turning. The high hood hides the view about a meter from the ground; if, when turning a corner of the car, a child without an adult comes across it, then in combination with the wide stance there is a very high probability of not seeing him at all.
The visibility from the rear is normal, the rear pillars have glass, but due to the fact that the rear glass is also at a high level, there is a very high probability of not noticing an obstacle (and again, God forbid, it will be a child). I don’t have parking sensors, but this car needs them, so don’t skimp on installing them.

The X-ray drives great: the 1.8 in combination with a manual transmission works great: it accelerates well, pulls well (maybe not from the very bottom, but definitely from the middle ones). The suspension is elastic, moderately stiff, very well-knit, responds adequately to the steering wheel and pedals, although the steering wheel, in my opinion, is a little heavy, the gear shifts are clear.
I no longer have the desire to drive, so 118 km/h at 3,000 rpm (of course, in 5th gear) is completely enough for me. It will go easily and faster, but it seems to me that above 3,000 rpm it becomes somehow noisy and uncomfortable. Fuel consumption is within 8.0 l/100 km.

The interior, of course, has a controversial design. I don't like the overly complex panel architecture. It will probably be very difficult to clean the dust from the joint between the individual panel parts on the instrument panel visor. For my taste, there are too many broken lines and all sorts of connections. And in our dusty area of roads without asphalt, all these joints and folds will collect everything that seeps into the cabin.
Much has already been said about the inconvenient location of the power window buttons, but I’ll add my two cents - the buttons are in the most inconvenient place you could think of. AvtoVAZ needs to work on this. I would like to praise the seats and steering wheel, which are very comfortable, they seem to be from Renault.

The new Lada X-Ray 2022 body was built as part of AvtoVAZ’s cooperation with the Renault-Nissan alliance on the global B0 platform and is a close relative of the French Sandero Stepway.

With a top-end 122-horsepower engine, the new 2022 Lada XRAY has an optimal balance of power and chassis capabilities. Such a car not only moves off easily, but also confidently picks up speed, so overtaking on the highway should not be a problem.
Compared to the related Sandero, the suspension of the Russian hatch is a little stiffer, and the car tolerates ruts on asphalt somewhat worse than the “French”. In general, there are no serious complaints about the chassis settings: the sway on the waves is minimal, and there is no strong roll in turns.
The short wheelbase and raised suspension allow the X-Ray to move off public roads, but the model clearly does not shine with cross-country ability. The lower “lip” of the front overhang looks vulnerable and can be damaged even while parking in the city, not to mention full-fledged forays into nature. The bottom, although it looks flat, is not without a number of protruding elements that are vulnerable to branches and stones.
The interior of the new Lada X Ray 2022 has niches and pockets for storing small items, as well as a capacious glove compartment, but the location of some buttons and the functionality of the entertainment system are far from ideal. The same can be said about visibility: if the side mirrors provide a good view, then it is not so convenient to monitor the road through the interior mirror - the car has a small window in the fifth door, and if passengers are sitting in the second row, then the road behind becomes practically invisible.
As for the seating position, it is slightly amorphous in the front seats. This is largely due to the convex shape of the pillows, as well as the “flaccid” side support bolsters. The three-seater sofa located on the second row is well profiled, but has neither a central armrest nor the possibility of longitudinal adjustment. Plus, its cushion is a little short, so it’s unlikely to be comfortable here on long trips.

The first Lada XRAY concept was a three-door car in the cross-coupe style and was demonstrated to the public back in 2012. At the Moscow Off-Road Show 2014 in August, the automaker brought a pre-production version of the model, which retained only certain design elements from the early show car.
The full premiere of the X-Ray hatchback took place in November 2014, but the Togliatti brand did not rush into the start of mass production, and the model entered the assembly line in December 2015, and the first cars reached dealers only in February 16.
Lada X-Ray is made in the signature X-shaped style, while a team of specialists led by British designer Steve Mattin worked on the appearance of the “high” hatchback. In contrast to the youthful appearance, the interior is quite serious. The dashboard is in the form of three wells, informative. The right well is used for the on-board computer. The steering wheel is textured and comfortable, in a top-end configuration with control buttons for multimedia functions. The 7-inch multimedia display is surrounded by deflectors. Below is a simple climate control unit. In a simple configuration there is a radio and airflow units. The quality of the finishing materials is tough, the seat fabric is pleasant. The front seats of the Lada XREI have weak lateral support, a large range of adjustments and convex cushions. By the standards of class “B” there is enough space on the back seat. There is plenty of space for small things: cup holders and wide pockets in the doors, a drawer under the passenger seat, niches and cup holders on the center console.
Among the useful equipment, the car received heated windshield, mirrors and front seats. Along with air conditioning and climate control, these are options.
The trunk in the standard position is designed for 361 liters, with the sofa folded - 1207 liters. The floor turns out smooth, incl. with the front seat folded down. There is a small underground space in the trunk. An R15 “spare wheel” is provided, although the Lada XRAY characteristics indicate standard R16 wheels.
