Attention!!! If a non-original timing belt is used, its service life may be much shorter. Therefore, we recommend that all car owners regularly check the condition of the timing belt every 10,000 - 15,000 thousand kilometers to avoid breakage and engine damage.

We list the conditions under which the condition of the timing belt must be checked immediately.
- Extraneous noise from the timing belt area.
The first step is to remove the accessory drive belt. Thus, we will cut off possible malfunctions and extraneous sounds from these units. If the sound remains when the engine is running, you will have to open the belt covers and carry out in-depth diagnostics. If engine oil, coolant, power steering fluid or oil from the air conditioning system gets on the timing belt, it will very quickly fail.
On most engines, the timing belt also rotates the coolant pump. Only on Renault engines (on the left) the pump is rotated by the reverse side of the belt, and on VAZ engines (on the right) by a toothed one.

I advise you to periodically check the condition of the timing belt, and the more often the older your car is. At the beginning of operation, all drive parts are fresh, the belt is factory. Then we begin to install spare parts, but we do not change all the gears, and therefore the wear rate of each subsequent belt will increase.
