Removing and installing a new filter element

Replacing the cabin filter of the Hyundai Solaris 2 (HCR) is a routine and fairly simple periodic maintenance procedure. There is nothing complicated about it, so replacing it yourself is quite simple.

To do this, we sit in the front passenger seat, opposite the glove compartment. After all, it is behind it that the installation location is located:

2. We press on the side partitions of the glove box, inward. After the stoppers disengage, move the box down (Fig. 2).

3. Access to the installation site is open, now remove the plug. On the right side we squeeze the latches, pull the plug towards ourselves and disengage the left side (Fig. 3).

4. That's it, now we just take out the old filter element, move it towards ourselves and replace it with a new one (Fig. 4).

5. After replacing, all that remains is to install the cover in its place until it clicks, and also put the glove compartment in place.

When installing, pay attention to the arrows shown on one side of the filter element. They indicate the correct installation position. Exactly how to install is written below.

When removing the filter, as a rule, a large amount of debris spills onto the mat. It is worth vacuuming the inside of the stove body itself - the size of the slot for the filter makes it quite easy to operate with the narrow nozzle of the vacuum cleaner.

Which side to install

In addition to replacing the cabin air filter element itself, it is important to install it on the correct side. There are simple notations for this:

• Just an arrow (without an inscription) - indicates the direction of the air flow.
