Conventional production cars from famous concerns have long had analogues that can easily outperform a limousine in terms of size, engine power, and speed that they can develop. Moreover, such cars can be found not only at exhibitions and presentations, but also in everyday reality.
Did you know that long cars are not assembled in conveyor-type factories? They are obtained from production cars by cutting the latter into 2 parts and inserting a body fragment of the required length between them. It is also necessary to strengthen the side members, suspension and the entire body around the perimeter, since extra centimeters also mean additional weight.
Many cars are taken for festive events in order to earn fabulous money on them just by their appearance. Others are simply purchased by wealthy drivers as a hobby, despite the enormous cost of maintenance. And still others are also trucks.
These differences helped us compile a selection of the 10 longest cars in the world, many of which you probably didn’t know about.
American Dream - 30.5 m
Officially recognized as the longest car in the world and listed in the Guinness Book of Records - American Dream. Its length is 30.5 meters. Designed by "American Dream" in the 80s back in the 20th century by Jay Orberg. It was created for the filming of Hollywood films. The number of wheels of this car is 26 pieces (13 pairs). The filling of the car is not inferior to the best houses: the capacity of the car is 50 people, there is a double bed, a jacuzzi, a solarium, even a swimming pool with a diving board and a helipad. As for the driver, there are two of them, and two cabins (front and rear), they have a connection with each other in order to understand when there are turns and stops. In addition to filming, cars were rented out for the holidays at a very good price. But still, this miracle of engineering was left to the mercy of fate in a warehouse. Until recently, it was still used for photo shoots, after which it was put up for auction and was bought by the Automotive Teaching Museum for teaching students.
Not “Hello”, but “Hello”
Mobile missile systems were adopted for service back in the days of the Soviet Union. Then a serious question arose about how to transport missiles that weigh about 50 tons? The problem was entrusted to be solved in 1990 by the Minsk Automobile Plant, which presented the 16-wheeled monster MAZ-7922. After a number of modifications, the vehicle became MZKT-79221, which was used to transport Topol-M missile systems. Serial production began in Minsk already in 1995.
From the very beginning, the technical specifications required the MZKT-79221 to have good cross-country ability even in off-road conditions. That is why the designers made it so that the wheels of the first and last three axles of the tractor could turn. The turning radius of the car is 18 meters, despite the fact that the length of the car itself is 19.5 meters. The vehicle weighs 39.5 tons and uses a 395-horsepower YaMZ-847 tank engine with an output of 800 horsepower. Fuel consumption is 300 liters per 100 km.
The most interesting thing is that, despite its weight and dimensions, the Belarusian tractor is capable of accelerating to a decent 45 km/h. It also has a brother - the Chinese tractor Wanshan WS51200, which is assembled based on MAZ developments. The 12-meter conveyor with a 16x12 wheel arrangement can carry loads of up to 70 tons thanks to an engine with 700 hp output.
Interestingly, a few years ago, Chinese analogues of MAZ became the cause of an international scandal. Four pieces were delivered in circumvention of sanctions to the DPRK. Then the Chinese said that North Korea purchased the machines from them for logging.
Midnight Rider - 21 m
This car is 10 meters shorter, but in terms of weight and content it is much cooler. This car is also included in the Guinness Book of Records as the heaviest car in the world. Despite the fact that its length is only 21 m, it weighs 22,933 kilograms. This is a trailer that has three different guest rooms, each with a bar, TV for comfort and even a telephone. Longest truck
The customer for this unique truck was a construction company. The creators of the car are Chinese. Features:

The truck was still used for some time, 3 years to be precise. It was used to transport the largest and most bulky goods. But due to many inconveniences, it was written off in 2010.
Boeing 727 Jet Limo - 16 m

The passenger airliner was too old for flying in 2004, and then the company that designs limousines, VACA Limousines, turned it into a car that is perfect for traveling on the roads. The capacity of this Boeing is 50 people. It was created partly from Mercedes-Benz parts. Its speed is 200 km/h. The lounge has a full bar, TV, neon lighting and a dance floor. It is now rented for $100 thousand a month or $1000 for three hours using this miracle of technology.

After the Vietnam War, the American military made a brilliant conclusion - standard army trucks are not suitable for solving all tasks. First of all, the military was not satisfied with the cross-country ability of the vehicles, as well as their dubious carrying capacity. In the mid-1980s, a competition was announced in the United States to create a vehicle that could be a truck, tractor, or tow truck. As a result, Oshkosh Motor Truck introduced the LVS (Logistic Vehicle System) with an 8x8 wheel arrangement. Already in 1985, the vehicle was put into service.
Subsequent military companies helped identify a number of serious shortcomings in the truck. In 2006, a modernization was carried out, as a result of which LVSR (Logistic Vehicle System Replacement) appeared. The new truck weighed 20 tons and could carry a load of up to 24.5 tons and tow another 24 tons. The length of the car increased to 11 meters. This design replaces three trucks at once, and can also be equipped with turrets with stationary weapons.
The truck is driven by a 15.2-liter Caterpillar turbodiesel with an output of 600 horsepower, which accelerates the car on the highway to 105 km/h and is coupled with an Allison gearbox. The range is 485 km. The truck has been baptized by fire in Iraq and Afghanistan. The only negative is the cost, which is 415 thousand dollars.
