The main advantage of cable window lifts was their high maintainability. With rack and pinion lifts, replacing a broken plastic gear was a real challenge, as it was extremely difficult to find the part for sale.

But there have always been a lot of parts for cable window lifts in car dealerships.

Important points

  • The sequence of installing the Granat ESP in the rear doors of a VAZ 2107 is similar to that described above, since the rear doors differ from the front doors only in the location of the window lifter handle: it is shifted 4 cm to the left. Accordingly, the drilled mounting holes will be offset by the same distance. In addition, if a car owner wants to install ESP on all 4 doors, he will have to buy not one, but two sets of ESP “Granat” (since 1 set is designed for only 2 doors);
  • The ESP installed in the door must, firstly, be completely assembled, and secondly, the ESP mechanism itself must be in the lowest position, at the very end of the vertical rail. Otherwise, the ESP simply will not pass through the technological hole in the door;
  • when unbending the lock washer on the window lifter handle with a screwdriver, you should not make much effort: this is a fragile part that breaks easily;
  • This rule also applies to the plugs on the door trim: they also break easily when removed. And finding new door plugs for a VAZ 2107 on sale today is almost impossible;
  • When checking the operation of the ESP, special attention should be paid to the smooth movement of the glass and the sound it makes. If the moving glass creaks piercingly, it means that it is necessary to loosen the mounting bolts on the vertical rail. If the creaking does not disappear, you need to unscrew the bolts on the rail, place a couple of 2 mm high washers under them and screw the bolts into place. If the problem does not go away even after this, you should apply silicone grease to the seal from which the glass extends. Moreover, it is recommended to lubricate only the inner half of the seal (the one located in the cabin);

Power window

  • The first thing you need to do is distinguish between the side of the window regulator, the right and left sides are different from each other.
  • Next, we check the fastening of the glass to the glass bracket, it must be strong, otherwise replace the necessary parts.
  • We attach the adapter plate to the glass brackets; for this you will need M5 bolts and lock washers.
  • The welded nuts should face the outer door panel.
  • We drill holes D=8, as shown in the diagram below.
  • We fasten the window regulator with M6 bolts through lock washers.
  • Next, we move on to wiring the wires; for this you need to purchase window lifter buttons, which are not supplied with the mechanism. The connection must be made according to the diagram:

We screw the mass to the car body, direct current +12 volts with a mandatory break to the fuse, and connect the additional wire to the side lights.

In general, installing power windows on the “seven” is not so difficult; the process is completely simple and understandable.

My first car was a VAZ 2107, I did this work a couple of times, and on my own.

Before installing new window regulators, you must remove the old ones.

I’ll say right away that the window lifters on the “seven” are equipped with an additional tension wheel (roller), if you removed the window lifters on the “Zhigulevskaya” classic, then remember that there are three rollers, in the “seven” there are four of them, because the glass configuration is different (there is no so-called “window window” ).

Open the car door.

Now we need to remove the lift handle (under the decorative trim there is a lock washer, we use a screwdriver with a flat blade).

The handle has been removed (the glass should be lowered all the way down), now we remove the decorative trim (it is on plastic latches, we insert a screwdriver and snap it off without much effort or fanaticism.

That's all we have before us is the window lift mechanism.

We pick up a key for ten (as far as I remember), we need to unscrew the bolt that secures the tension roller, loosen it

Now you need to remove the fastening mechanism, you need an eight key, you will see three nuts, they are located in the area where the window lifter handle is attached (a sleeve with slots).

The glass that we lowered earlier, now we need to lift it a little and remove the entire window lift mechanism.

Installation is in reverse order, here are just a few tips, be sure to lubricate the window lift cable before installation.

Don’t forget to tighten the window lift cable using a tension roller, pull it all the way, secure it with a nut and check the entire mechanism for functionality (the glass should go down and up smoothly, without any “brakes” or sudden movements.

Hi all! I recently received my long-awaited FORWARD electric windows (hereinafter referred to as ESP). I ordered from the website steklopodem.ru, they arrived in St. Petersburg in 4 days. I am posting a report on how I installed it myself. I tried to photograph as detailed as possible.

I installed it on a VAZ-2107 car. I watched all the videos on the Internet, read a bunch of reviews and realized that it is not so difficult. But along the way, small nuances appeared, which I’ll tell you about now.

ESP themselves

First I started with the driver's door. I’m thinking about how the trim was removed and the standard window lifter was removed; no one will be interested in reading, so I’ll get to the point.

I started with drilling. I marked points using a ruler and made holes. Here was the first problem: although the car was relatively old for a VAZ (2005), the doors had managed to rust a little. As a result, the steel became thinner and it was more difficult to drill, which is why the holes turned out so crooked. But the ESP mechanism itself went in as it should and now holds up perfectly.

Then all that was left to do was just screw on the glass and connect it directly to the battery to check that it worked.

At this stage, a problem also arose: the glass lowered all the way, but at the very bottom it flew out of the guide, and could no longer rise up without the help of hands. No matter how I tried to regulate, nothing helped.

Then I realized that the guide on the bottom bolt did not hold, there was a play of 5 centimeters! I solved the problem by buying a new guide, apparently it had worn out over 10 long years of use.

At this point, the installation work ended and the most difficult part began - WIRING.

At first I decided to take the path of least resistance. “+” connected to the radio, took the ground from the door. I tried it - it didn't work. The fuse has blown. After replacing it, I tried again, everything worked. I left it like that for the first time, since I did it for more than one day (a couple of hours after work).

Then, as I made the second door (I’ll give a photo below), I noticed that the glass moved slower than on the driver’s door and another fuse burned out. I decided to connect directly to the battery.

I didn’t do it right away because I didn’t want to drill a hole for the wiring and look for a place there and generally wire it, but I had to.

To my surprise, the VAZ-2107 has a hole under the fuse block and rubber plug, through which I successfully ran the “+” wire.

  3. Open the hole for access to the window regulator, remove the trim from the door.
  4. Unscrew the bolt holding the tension roller and remove the cable from the rollers.
  5. Remove the nuts that secure the lift and disconnect it.

Finally, all that remains is to unscrew the screws that connect the cable to the glass. Now you can install new window regulators on the VAZ-2107. Before installing electric windows on a VAZ-2107, you need to check all the parts. If a breakdown or manufacturing defect is detected, the defects should be eliminated or new parts should be used.

Selecting new devices

The rear and front ESP on the VAZ-2107 is very convenient. It is relatively inexpensive, can be installed without any problems, is fully equipped, and does not require additional parts. There is no unnecessary noise during its use. However, before installing power windows on the VAZ-2107, you need to choose the appropriate option:

  1. Russian models. They are produced as “Forward” and “Granat”.
  2. Foreign models. They are supplied to the Russian market by the Chinese company Ningbo Stone.

Electrical structure assembly

Installation of electric windows on the VAZ-2107 is carried out in several stages. It should begin with a thorough study of the instructions, which detail the installation of the ESP on the VAZ-2107. The algorithm of actions will be as follows:

  1. You need to turn off the power to the car: turn off the ignition, turn off the battery. This is done to comply with safety regulations and to avoid injury.
  2. The old mechanical window lift needs to be removed.
  3. You should choose the most suitable location for placing the electric motor. The best location is considered to be the bottom of the door.
  4. It is necessary to mark places for fastenings. This is easy to do by placing the motor to the place where it will be located. After this, you need to drill holes.

Installation of previously purchased ESP and mechanisms is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. At the bottom of the doors, we place the motor housing inside and make markings for fasteners.
  2. Using an electric drill, we drill holes for mounting the equipment.
  3. We install the electromechanical unit in its designated place in the doors of the VAZ 2107 and screw it on.

Helpful advice: usually the delivery kit includes self-tapping screws for these purposes; experts recommend replacing them with screws with a nut and a locking washer.

  1. We install the side window of a VAZ 2107 car on top, lower it down and secure it in the mounting rail. This operation is performed carefully so as not to damage the fragile part.

The next step will be to connect the ESP to the vehicle's on-board network; the delivery package includes a schematic diagram. You should study it carefully and act strictly in accordance with the instructions for installing electric windows in the following order:

  1. We stretch the wires from the drive through a protective corrugated tube to the center console of the car.
  2. On the panel next to the clock we cut out holes for the control buttons, bring the wires out through them and connect them and install them in the place allocated for them.
  3. The power circuit of the ESP is connected to the on-board network with the obligatory use of fuses. The circuit used for switching must provide for the possibility of using electric drives only when the engine is turned on.
  4. Wires laid in the cabin are insulated with PVC tubes and laid under the upholstery.

The installation of the ESP equipment and its connection is completed, you can begin checking and adjusting. Using an electric drive, we raise the glass up and adjust the position of the mechanism so that there are no gaps left. We install the upholstery on the door in the reverse order, and put a plug in place of the handle for the mechanical window lifter drive.

The work on installing additional equipment on the VAZ of the seventh model has been completed; now there is no need to persistently turn the handle; just press the button to lower or raise the window. Installed electric windows can be integrated into the safety system. The scheme is simple and after its implementation, arming with closing the windows will be done automatically.

We install the ESP in the following sequence:

  • the front door from the inside of the cabin should be disassembled;

  • the fixation of the car lock relaxes;
  • 3 fasteners holding the armrest are unscrewed;
  • both the door and the upper part of the trim are removed;
  • using a size 8 wrench, unscrew all the fixing bolts;
  • the glass guide strip is removed;
  • The car door is completely removable;
  • using a screwdriver, unscrew the 4 fasteners that secure the mechanism to the glass;
  • the nut that controls the tension of the lift cable loosens;
  • the window regulator is removed from the cell;
  • 2 holes are drilled in the car door, the diameter of which is 6 mm;
  • the holes are located on the same plane;
  • The gearmotor must be fixed in place of the removed factory lift. For fixation, fasteners are used that come complete with the ESP;
  • using standard fasteners to the electric lift, the car window holders are fixed;
  • the wires are carefully routed through the installed lift. The power button can be installed both on the door panel and in the center of the armrest.

At this point, the stage of installing the ESP on the VAZ-2107 can be considered complete. Car owners will only have to assemble the door components in the reverse order.
